A sore throat is not going to be harmful to the baby...but if the breathing is affected you should seek medical attention. Some signs that your baby is having a hard time breathing are: Bluish tint around the lips and mouth; his/her nostril are flaring; he/her seems to be breathing from upper region on body then in belly or lower chest...if any of these signs are visible you should take your baby to either the emergency room or pediatrician.

If you baby is not drinking or eating normally and is running a high temperature then your baby may have strep throat. I suggest taking him or her to the doctor if there is whizzing, trouble breathing, not eating or drinking (expecially drinking because babies can get dehydrated very fast) if they are running upwardsw to 104 temp and above. Thsi can mean infection.

Take him to the doctor. A sore throat is painful, he probably has an infection that is goin gto require a specific antibiotic. Usually the sore throat comes with a fever.
