No. It is their decision.
If they were cannibals, that would be another matter entirely.

Most vegetarians grew up eating meat. And making that decision and getting over the hurdle is tough; it's seriously addictive stuff the animal industries are pushing on us. Even knowing about all the horrors, people think, yeah, but I just can't do it.
I don't want to say they're weak-willed; that sounds too cruel. But as with any addiction, the person has to want to make a change and has to make a conscious decision to stop consuming the bad substance or he will fail.
But they're not bad; the ones who are bad are the companies who push this garbage on us.

Before I get any comments about being a "preachy vegan", know that I would never say these things to any meat eater unless asked directly, such as now.
I was not raised vegetarian. I ate meat for the first 18 years of my life, and all of my family and most of my friends eat meat. I certainly do not think that eating meat makes you a bad person. What I think is that the meat and dairy industries have used their billions of advertising and litigation dollars well, so the vast majority of Americans simply have no idea the way that meat and dairy are produced and the impacts they have on our health and the environment. I like to believe that if people really knew all there was to know about the suffering and torture endured by animals on our behalf, they would stop eating meat. I like to believe people can be compassionate.
With that, I do not automatically look down on people for eating meat because they are usually making the best decision with the information they have. Now, in the rare occasions that someone is fully aware of the barbaric treatment of "food animals" and its effect on the world at large, and continues to eat meat, THOSE are the people I have a problem with. Anyone who can see photos and videos of the slaughter their money funds and continue buying meat loses a lot of respect in my book. This is only my opinion.

Common sense 101: We should each be allowed to choose our own actions only so long as those actions harm no one else. I'm sorry, but sentient animals ARE someone else, as are the poor children who grow up obese because they were raised eating McDonald's every day.
Maybe it's the diplomatic thing to do, to say it's a "personal choice". But I doubt omnivores would be so kind to someone who thinks it's all right to eat people. It's the same thing.
I don't think they're inherently bad (though quite a few are unbelievably obnoxious). They are just ignorant about how animals are treated and how detrimental meat is for one's health. Why wouldn't they be? It's not as if we can trust our government or media to show it like it is.
But if people continue eating meat and contributing money to meat industries after they are made aware of the TORTURE (and it is torture) factory farm animals endure, what else are they except "bad"?

My girlfriend eats fish, but I love her very much. She was a vegan for a year, and I have been a vegan since March '06. I think that being vegan first of all means that you realize that everybody has equal rights to live. So, no so-called "vegan terror" can exist.

I'm vegetarian through choice, as long as people respect my choices I respect them.
I don't know many vegetarians, most my family/ friends and boyfriend eat meat and I would NEVER make any of them stop. Thats like them trying to get me to eat meat.
People who eat meat aren't bad. I hate the people who think they are, or the meat eaters who can't seem to understand that people are vegetarians and make fun of them etc but when its the other way round... well you know what I'm on about.

I'm vegan and no, I don't think others are bad for eating meat.
My husband is a meat eater. I will not force my feelings and opinions on others though I do hope to raise our child as a vegan.

I'm vegetarian and I don't think people who eat meat are necessarily "bad." I have to deal with people who eat meat all day at work, it would be ridiculous to see everything in such black and white terms. Life isn't that simple.

No, I don't think they are "bad." Except for my mom and my sister, pretty much everyone I love in my life eats meat. I wish they wouldn't, but I respect their right to and I don't consider myself somehow superior to them.

It means that they are less conscious or aware of what they contribute to the world.

I never think less of someone for eating meat, yet at the same time I think of it as a cruel and evil practice in today's world because it is completely unnecessary and has become overwhelmingly corrupt.
