I would also add along with what you have, those real long subs and hot wings instead of hot dogs I would do burgers or maybe both

That's fine if it's gonna be outside, but if you're in a cooler climate, you may consider a hot pasta dish like lasagne or baked ziti. Those can be put together ahead of time and stashed in the fridge until you're ready to bake them. A bag o' salad and dressing waiting on the side and dinner rolls with butter. It's all still self serve stuff to cut down on the work for you.
If you're like in So California where it's always beautiful, then the dogs & chips menu is great. Have fun!

Got a tight budget? Here are some ideas for a rainy/snowy day party:
1. Hot Artichoke dip with tortilla chips
2. Hot Chili cheese dip with Fritos (spread 1 package softened cream cheese in pie plate, top with your favorite can of chili, top with shredded cheese and nuke until melted and bubbling. Top with sliced olives, sour cream and salsa)
3. Hot Wings (teriyaki and buffalo style)
4. Bratwurst (boil in beer and onions first, and then grill) served with a variety of mustards and rolls. Add saurkraut if you're so inclined.
5. Cole slaw (you can purchase at Costco or Sams' or make your own. Add a little chopped apple to store-bought to make it yummy.
6. Potato salad with diced onion, dill pickle, celery, hard boiled eggs, mayo, mustard and paprika.
7. Chips and a variety of dips (don't forget the onion or clam dips!)
8. Add bacon and brown sugar to your baked beans!
9. In addition to your cake, how about brownies and cookies?
Punch is cheaper than lots of drinks and you can make some great alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. Create a great ice ring for the center and you have a show piece.

That sounds good other than..... I would do Hamburgers instead of hot dogs. Most people would perfer handburgers, if your worried about the $, you can get preshaped frozen patties which are cheaper and come bye like... 24 patties in each for like... 12$ (I think!) And then good toppings!
I would also recomend salsa which is a favorite over my friends.
Hope I helped :)

May be a Chocolate fountain. Use banana, strawberry and Marshmallow. You can find the chocolate fountain at sam's club or Costco or jc Penney.I also saw it before in Walmart but i don't know if they still carry it. I did it several times in parties and was a hit because it is a new idea and not common.
Good Luck

Water chestnuts rapped in bacon held together with a tooth pick. put in Microwave until bacon is cooked and serve. You can also do some with pineapple pieces to go along with them. Everyone loves bacon.
