I'm sorry to tell you that most foods are not allowed by the US customs, unless you're an importer with a permit. I didn't really want to be the one to tell you, just that no one else has pointed it out and I thought you should know before your nice baked goods get confiscated.

Perhaps, ordering a gift over the Internet is a more viable option. Or, maybe some unique handicraft you can make for him from Singapore?

well my advice is to let a friend of your's in america order a cake and put it in a box and send it to him and say that you baked that cake!! and wallah - and that ladies and gentlemen i like to call (magic of laying)

anyways just google it and you may find some companies that will ship your cake or the first idea is good its easy its cheep and cheek

Banana bread is traditional, and travels well. You can bake it in a coffee can, and mail the whole can, wrapped well. (-: I'm sure he'll love it! Also, cookies can travel pretty well, if you wrap them well, cushion them, and make sure the container is air-tight and tough.

Just send him a packet of noodles and a receipe and tell him that it is a new one and would taste good.
