I'm a vegan, and I don't know why I still feel so tired all of the time. I get enough sleep, and I take daily vitamins with iron and eat enough protein.

Are you eating enough?

When i changed to a vegetarian diet i naturally started eating more. the digestive system starts to function a lot better and faster without meat.

You could try eating more for your main meals? personally i eat heaps at dinner. if im still hungry after dinner often i eat muesli, which is a great source of energy for the next day.

also, fruit is a great readily available source of energy, i usually eat it in the morning to wake up and kick my system into gear, if i feel like i need it like if i havent had enough sleep i will have it between meals too, usually apples and pears and the like.

you could also be lacking iron, do you eat much mixed greens? gotta get dark green ones and light ones. beans are a great source of iron too.

protein isnt likely to be the problem, though making sure your getting it is still a good idea.

fats are also a good burnable source of energy. i usually eat avocados and nuts at lunch. omegas are great for the whole body.

A bit of excercise first thing in the morning also goes a long way to keeping the body going, you could jog in the morning or cycle to work/school.

Also, have you noticed that you get tired at specific times? like directly after lunch? or after soda or candy?

I dont eat too much sugar during the day as it can affect blood glucose levels, and glucose is what the brain runs on (or even protein as the body can convert it to glucose).

if i eat like bread at lunch i will be asleep in less than 30 mintues hehe : ) i generally eat lighter foods in the day, greens, fats like nuts and avacado, seeds and fruits.

then i hammer all the tasty carby food when i get home and i know i can lie down afterwards. feeling sleepy after eating big meals with a carbohydrate content is natural, its the nervous system changing gears into rest mode out of work mode.

Good Luck : )

Try to add some vegan raw food to your diet. The food is alive and it has its own enzymes which means that it does not have to borrow energy from your body to digest the food. The main reasons most of us are tired is because it takes loads of energy for the body to digest food. Also, try some vitamin B-complex supplements, and excercise.

Keep in mind that too much protein is actually unhealthy.

Anyway, do you eat many fruits? If not, that could be your problem. Try a nice big banana-strawberry smoothie instead on mornings. Eat more fruits throughout the day too.

Feeling worn out is worse, i must post with it daily. The unusual time i've a few vigour feels first-class, a minimum of whilst you are hungry all you must do is devour anything and the emotions long past.

Are you sure you sleep enough? 8 hours is not enough for everyone. Some people get by on 6. I need ten hours daily to function properly.

Try taking digestive enzymes, vitamin D and getting a good amount of exercise.

SST is right, though... if you hate the sun, try vitamin D supplements.. and if possible, ask your doctor, because i am a vegetarian and had mild anemia and didn't know it. lack of iron really knocks you out.. good luck!
