I was 12. I just hated eating all the animals, plus I saw all the environmental benefits.

In technical terms I am a pescetarian, meaning that I still eat seafood. But I call myself a vegetarian because it's simpler to people. I might go completely vegetarian later, but I'm only 13 now and I'm still growing so I still need the extra protein from seafood.

I was 16. Never ate meat again since that day. If I had to look back at my life and choose the best decision I've made in my 24 years, I'd defenitly say that becoming a vegetarian was the best choice I made.

I know that I've saved animals by not buying or eating meat products. I eat healthier, and would never go back to eating meat.

I was 16, so 11 years ago. I was shown animal cruelty videos and I immediately became a lacto-ovo-vegetarian. After about 6 months, I had started some extensive reading on health issues and diet and I became vegan.

12 when I stopped eating red meat. 16 when I went vegetarian. I was nondairy off and on for a few years, then finally went vegan at 24. I'm 25 now.

I wanted to be vegetarian when I was 12 but I didn't stick with it for various reasons. I sort of forgot about it until I was 17 and then I went vegan. :) I'm 20 now, btw.

12. I cut out everything except turkey and chicken...and at 14 I got rid of those too. Turkey and chicken just got nastier and grosser..and finally I just ditched those "foods" too. You could tell I was going to be one when I was really young though by the way I would eat it...and lack of eating meat. Never really did like it.

22. I'm only 23 now.

It basically happened because when I got out of college I finally had time to read again and I read Diet For a New America and other books that helped me make the decision.
