My mother did not smoke and when I tried it...I did not like it. Its a proven fact. Kids who grew up watching their parents drink and smoke are more likely to drink and smoke. Seeing it growing up makes it an accepted behavior and the "kid" sees nothing wrong with it because mom and dad do it.

I don't smoke, my kids don't smoke. I hope the trend continues and my grand children (when I am lucky enough to have them) will not smoke.

Everyone I knew that smoked, either had quit or was trying to quit when I was a kid. My mom smoked before I was born, and my dad smoked until I was 2. My aunts and uncles quit between when I was 5-10 years old.

So, what I learned as a child was that smoking is something that people inevitably try to quit. Which meant that there is no point of starting something if you are just going to try to quit.

Even now, as an adult, I would say the main reason I don't smoke (besides health and grossness issues) is that I am terrified of being addicted to anything.

Nothing kept me from smoking. When I started college last year, and was around so much smoke, I tried it, and have been smoking ever since.

Myself, and love for my parents ( I don't want to disappoint them.)
