I don't think being a vegan would be hard. If you have a strong belief to then go for it and try your hardest.

Right now I'm a vegetarian who eats vegan at home and vegetarian when I go out. That's because being a vegan when you are making your own meals is incredibly easy if you have enough good recipes.
Eating out is challenging, however, because you have to harass the waiter/waitress to make sure whatever you order is animal product free. Lots of places that have a vegetarian option on the menu will drench said option in cheese so that it appeals to non-vegetarians as well. And in any type of potluck situation you are unlikely to be able to eat most of the food, even though the majority of it could have easily been prepared without animal products.
So I cook vegan at home, make vegan stuff for potlucks but will eat stuff with dairy or eggs while I'm out if there no vegan option. I'm hoping to become vegan someday but that's how it do it now until I can disipline myself.
I hope you find a way that works for you. Remember to do what you can even if going all the way vegan is too much for you. Every little bit helps.

I haven't found it very hard at all. Mind you, I've only been at it about a month (after 20 years as a vegetarian.) The first no-animals-at-all grocery trip was a little hard because I had to read the labels of everything to make sure there was no milk or eggs lurking in there. But other than that, it's been easy. I have been cooking more and trying so many good recipes that I haven't even had a chance to miss cheese. If you're going from omnivore straight to vegan it might be harder than going vegetarian first...

i don't think it has to be an all-or-nothing approach. I know there is a small band of zealots who will disagree with me, but It hink we each have to do what we are capable of.
I am a vegetarian but have had difficulty in the past staying true to veganism.
I take each day and situation in stride and do the best I can as a mother and employee.
I don't think you should think of it as 'hard', or wonder if you can... Just start today living a life that treads more lightly on the world around you and go from there.

i am not vegan but my cousins are
i think that it would be hard because a lot of foods have meat and dairy products in it.
i think that being a vegitarian would be much easier because when my cousins and aunt and uncle come for holidays or just come over then they have to bring all of their own food because all of our stuff has dairy or meat in it.
plus at a lot of parties there is a lot of stuff that could have that stuff in it
i would suggest being a VEGITARIAN; not a VEGAN
i hope that helped :D

Not if you've done your research and you really want to be a vegan for yourself and not because it sounds like a cool thing to do or you think everyone's going to approve.

I am not a vegan, personally, but I am friends with some.
It's a serious commitment. If it were me, I would start being vegetarian and slowly move into veganism.
Do your research and make sure you are prepared.

You have to give up your day job practically to keep track of all the crap that is "vegan". If you enjoy food and have any kind of life and social life it's probably not the smartest thing you will ever do.
If you want to eat healthy, google "Flexitarian Diets".

To be honest, yes it is and sometimes I wish I had just stayed vegetarian. But I'm a lot healthier. And I'm a pretty good cook and can be creative in that field so yeah.

No and more and more restaurants cater to vegans--sometimes you just have to ask (the waiter/waitress) though
