Today i took a deep breath and i got this really sharp pain threw my whole torso.. it felt like someone had stabbed me.. worst pain I've ever felt.. and I've been coughing a lot today, and it kind of feels like something is in my throat and i can taste something.. but i was helping weld something today and was breathing in a lot of different smells and things in the air (no mask but i was looking away) and since then all this has started? Could it just be a cold starting.. normal sharp pains.. or could it be an infection starting in my lungs? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answers so far.. but there is no point in going to my doctor.. my 2 sisters are nurses and my dad is a flight nurse paramedic.. they just haven't been home today so I will ask them about it later, but i was just seeing what some people may think lol Thanks so far though =)

More likely a muscle strain in your chest due to your coughing. Take it easy for now, go see your doc if you have any dizziness, shortness of breath, if the pain radiates anywhere else, or if the pain lasts more than a few minutes.

The sharp pain sounds like round ligament pain. Its the ligaments that hold your uterus stretching to accommodate the baby. I get the same pain if I am laying down and I laugh or if I stand up too fast from my chair at work. I started having the round ligament pain around 7-8 weeks pregnant. My doctor said its normal.
