On my grandmothers death cert. from 1944 this was given as the cause of death along with Hypertension, which is high blood pressure. But what is Chronic Lephritis? Thanks Gail

I wonder if they meant "chronic nephritis"? As you likely know, hypertension injures the kidneys which can lead to small shrunken kidneys being noted on autopsy. I wonder if they used to call it "chronic nephritis" back then?

I've never heard of chronic lephritis and neither has Dr. Google...
