If you have any symptoms of low blood sugar take a finger stick test. If your blood sugar is low then take either a glucose tablet or some orange juice or a glass of regular soda. Wait 15 minutes and recheck your glucose level. Repeat if necessary. If there is no improvement or the improvement is insufficient got to a hospital.

You should talk to your doctor for the best advice, but I have been told that eating a handful of nuts or a spoonful of peanut butter can help. I think it's the protein that helps.

To help prevent an attack, you should eat every few hours. Make sure you eat a small snack in between meals.

Someone I know was having problems with his blood sugar and his doctor recommended the Sugar Busters diet. They have several books about it or you can find info online.

I always keep glucose tablets near by and juice. Orange juice helps cause it has sugar and so does glucose tablets. I just had a low blood sugar attact -mine was 70. So I drank oj and 2 glucose tabs.

Hard candy's are good but when your low you want something that will make your blood sugar go up quick.

Glucose tabs are fast acting.

low blood sugar attack, like really really low that you don't understand what's going on around you anymore, your skin feels cold and your sweating? my sister had the same experience, she was given the wrong dose of insulin and her blood sugar went down really fast. my mother gave her regular coke and some sweets to raise her blood sugar back to normal and monitored her blood sugar by the hour. you can take anything that has sugar that your body can abosrb as fast as you ingest it. there's also some oral glucose paste that you can buy and use if ever you suffer hypoglycemia. you should ask your doctor about it.

Eat or drink something with a good deal of sugar in it and lay down for about 30 minutes.

How do you know you are having a "low blood sugar attack"? Do you have a medical diagnosis of this? We advise patients to carry hard candies, or there are special wafer type "glucose" tablets that can be purchased at any pharmacy for diabetics. Check with your doctor.
