Here are some ideas I'm doing at my own party:

Haunted trail - if you live in the woods, just decorate a trail and recruit a couple party guests to dress all in black and creep up on the other guests! This could work for a basement too.

Seance - I have an Ouija board that I picked up at a flea market for a buck and bought a bunch of candles at the dollar store for a seance. Or, if you don't have an Ouija board, or if you're afraid to use one, you can just hold hands and chant. And there's always Bloody Mary and Light as a Feather. Magic spells are fun, too.

Ghost pictures/videos - Scary movie marathons are fun, but I looked up a bunch of "real" (not sure if they are lol) photos and videos of ghosts from the internet - the fact that they could be the real thing makes it spookier than a movie. Also, look for some shockwave games that have scary images that pop up and scare the audience, those are a blast. We plan on showing these on a projector hooked up to a computer.

Don't forget old favorites like bobbing for apples and costume contests!

reverse charades of horror movies... try Ed Wood films o make it harder

how to facilitate:

group them in teams of either 2, 3 or 4

then instead of the conventional charades games wherin one peson acts something out... do it in reverse make the one person guess what the majority of the team members are acting out

its goin to be fun imagining them in their haloween costumes tying to act out Ed Wood films ü
