Different people follow different forms of vegetarianism. A true vegetarian eats no meat at all, including chicken and fish.
A lacto-ovo vegetarian eats dairy products and eggs, but excludes meat, fish, and poultry. It follows, then, that a lacto vegetarian eats dairy products but not eggs, whereas an ovo vegetarian eats eggs but not dairy products.
A stricter form of vegetarianism is veganism (pronounced: vee-gun-izm). Not only are eggs and dairy products excluded from a vegan diet, so are animal products like honey and gelatin

*sigh* Fish are animals, right? And vegetarians do not eat the flesh of animals, right? So that means that you are NOT a vegetarian. I'm so tempted to keep a running tally to see which question gets asked more, whether veg*ans can eat animal crackers (as long as they're not made with animal fat, yes) or whether or not vegetarians eat fish (a big fat no, non, nyet, nein). I think my head would explode within a week.

Vegetarians don't eat fish, or other animals.
Plants are food for vegetarians. The plant gets its energy directly from the sun. It is the only living thing that does this.
All other living things get their energy 2nd hand by eating plants, or 3rd hand by eating flesh from the animal kingdom. Fish are in the animal kingdom.

You are Vegaquarian!
In some countries, vegetarianism is when people don't eat red meat...in Europe, people who eat fish only are considered veggies. Generally speaking however, vegetarians don't eat anything that had a mom.

no, you are not a vegetarian. in order to be a vegetarian you must exclude all meat from your diet, fish is technically meat. yes, there are many times of vegetarianism, but none of them involve eating fish. and you are classified as just a normal person who eats little meat. you are not classified as a vegetarian, unless you give up all meat. sorry.

Real vegetarians don't eat animals. Fish are animals. Some people eat fish and call themselves vegetarian; they are incorrect.
