Well, in most cases with a doctor you can a starter kit for about $1000. Otherwise the listing price is about 5-6 thousand dollars. The infusion sets that must be changed every 2-3 days are about $60 a piece. Most of the time the company will try to negotiate with insurance companies to get it at least partially paid for.Try going on the minimed website and browse the different models, I suggest the newest (paradigm) Good Luck!

It all depends on if you have insurance or not......if you have insurance and its a 80/20 plan ..then your out of pocket would be around 2 grand....UNLESS...you have met you deductible and your out of pocket expense ...and if you have you would definitely want to get the pump before Jan.1... that is usually when your calendar year starts..........
I could go on all day about what it could be...
But no one can answer this question Correctly without talking to a Regular Diabetic Supplier.....To find out for sure....
What they would do is take a little information from you and then call your insurance company to find out what is up with your insurance and that way you would know for sure what it will cost....I happen to own a diabetic supply company...If you want I can check for you....It's free and would only take a couple minutes of you time....you can email me at...

Hope this was of some help...

Contact the pump companies. You can buy a pump and they will set up a payment schedule for you. I know of several people who's insurance did not cover the pump, but DID cover pump supplies. So, call your insurance company and find out if pumping supplies are covered. Supplies generally cost about $300.00+ per month. Keep in mind that a pump cost approximately $6,000.00 and is covered under warranty for four years. After this time you will want to upgrade or purchase a new pump to keep it covered under warranty. I know of one pump company that will sell refurbished pumps (they look like brand new) and they are covered under warranty. If you call the pump companies they will give you a number for the local representative. They will do their best to see that you get a pump.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/PIMT6
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.
