I mean Catholicism. For the record, I am not a Catholic, nor have I ever been a Catholic, and was even raised in a mildly anti-catholic environment. But serious, how can you fundamentalist bible-thumping zeal-driven born-againers deny that they are the only real Christians? They are the rock Jesus chose for his foundation--it's a matter of semi-historical record. Plus, if Jesus actually had any true occult powers and magic items, it seems pretty likely they would have ended up in the corrupt hands of the Vatican. Unless they managed to be hidden away by some of the obscure, ancient sects of Middle Eastern Christians.

I'd imagine that the reason these fundies and B-A's don't follow catholicism is it does not fit their "values"
I think it's ironic since catholic means "universal"
And peter didn't really establish the catholic church that's just a catholic lie to lend credibility to their particular brand of christianity. The catholic church is really just an archaic left over institution from the Roman Empire...

First and foremost, We follow christ, The author and finisher of our faith. Salvation comes from Jesus christ, not catholicism. Following catholicism will not save me from damnation. Looking at the way your writing this question, it seems to me that you dont like christians. Sorry to hear that. second, Jesus didnt magic or occult powers as non-believers would like to say. Salvation isnt determined by following a specific sect of christianity, but follow christ and christ alone.

The fundamental difference - ironic as it may be - is that Catholics accept the church and teachings of the church as of greater influence and importance in our faith than the Bible, the Holy Divine and Inspired Word of GOD.
The irony is of course - that it was the Catholic Church who actually compiled the books of the Bible!
But we Protestants tend to conveniently overlook that fact.
