Is 2011 AD the most probable year for the return of Jesus Christ and the end of the world, ie., Judgement Day?
The worldwide flood that destroyed all life on earth except for Noah, his family, and the animals in the ark occurred in 4990 B.C. In 2 Peter 3 God refers back to this flood and then transitions to the destruction of the universe by fire. In verse 8 God says, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." This is interesting because God told Noah to get into the ark 7 days before He brought the worldwide flood (Genesis 7:4).

Multiplying 7 X 1000 = 7000 years (1 day=1000 years). Then 7000 years + 4990 BC = 2011 AD (year "0" must count for 1 year). Is this the year Christ will return as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" to rapture the saints, destroy the universe bringing judgment on the ungodly, and create a new Heaven and Earth?

Before you answer, remember God told Abraham and Lot before He destroyed Sodom + Gomorrah.

**PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT STATING A DAY NOR HOUR; JUST The YEAR.

No one knows, Jesus himself does not know when the year will be, the day, nor the hour of His return

Wow ! That' s a lot of info. !
It' s also a very interesting assumption .
Who knows ? You could be right !
I can see that you know this statement , " No man knows the hour . " .... but , I also believe we' re getting very close to the time of " The Rapture " .
Here' s what I believe .....

First , the world will have to see a One-World Gov' t . We' re really leaning towards that , today .
Then , the world will see the signing of The Seven Year Peace Treaty ( the false peace ) .
At this time , the world will know who the one World Leader is . He will become The Anti - Christ .
The first 3 1 / 2 yrs. will seem peaceful . The start of the last 3 1/2 yrs . will reveal who The Anti - Christ is .
The start of this second-part of this 7 Year Peace ( 3 1/2 yr. in ) is the time of The Rapture and the beginning of the world-wide attack on Isreal .
My understanding could have holes in it , but , it always makes for an interesting topic .

I used to think that it was proably 2012. There were a lot ot pointers to that year, such as the end of the Mayan Long Count, the end of the Calender believed to be inherent in the design of the Great Pyramid, the calcuated end of a Kali Yuga from the birth of Krishna and seveal other things. Seemed a lot of coincidences from unrelated sources.

However for that date to be valid and the fact that Revelations tells us there will be seven years of Trubulation before the end times really start, then the unmistakable signs that showed the start of the Tribulation did not occur and so 2012 cannot be correct, and thus neither 2011

If you truly believe in God, then He (or She) is the ONLY one who knows when the world will end. All this Biblical, Mayan and Nostradamus prophecy is so much sand...a human will not ever know the day, nor the year. Unless of course, we see a huge asteroid headed towards earth---maybe then we could make an accurate prediction, lol.

Anyway, think of it like this...in EVERY era, in EVERY year, in EVERY religion, society, and culture, there have been people saying the world will end at such and such a time. None of them were right thus far.

However, people can make as many guesses as they like.

And may I just say to the first three answerers...wow, LOL. Education at it's finest, there.

EDITED to ADD: Okay the first 3 answers have been changed/erased. Ignore my last sentence.

This assumption or prediction is based on Christian views. In other religions it is end of 29the century and beginning of 30th century. That time Christ may come back again with new philosophy somewhere in January 3001. After that All associates of C & M will change their faith to some other bigger religion which will be all inclusive and beneficial to everyone alive in the world after that. People will die of hunger, famine. torrential rains, droughts, earth quakes, land slides and storms of ice and sand etc. Who ever would survive, form new faith. This masacre will be by natural forces and not man made ones. So we need not be shortsighted to create hatred and enmity right from now.

my thoughts as if you cared
Time has no beginning or end, there was no 1st day there will be no last day.

The return of Christ and other deities have been for-told of many times in the past, and ales we are all still here. sinners and saints.

I think these predictions are a call to from the Churches to fill their pews for another generation nothing more.

Well i am not a christian but rather a HIndu but the myth that god shall destroy the world is also quite popular now.
But i think that The world shall not be ended by the God But by our OWN Mistakes and Misdeeds.(the nuclear weapons and the biological weapons may indeed kill all living being
before god comes to end the world)

my brother!
i was happy to read for a change that even christians regard his coming back as "coming back" and not ressurrection. anyways, to answer your question, there a few signs our beloved PROPHET MUHAMMAD(P.B.U.H) has given of the time close to the DAY OF JUDGEMENT.
1. The community of gog and magog will surface and occupy the entire earth, so much so that not a single place will be left without their impact. they will spread every where.
2. a FAKE GOD will appear. yes, you read it right, the character is called "DAJJAL" meaning "imposter", his one eye will be defective and on his head will be these four letters in arabic k*A*F*R. He will travel so fast that within half an hour, he will cover the entire earth's distance. he will lure people by telling them he is GOD and even the most religious people will fall in his trap.
when PROPHET ISA(P.B.U.H) will come, HE(P.B.U.H) will kill both gog magog and dajjal.
When PROPHET ISA(P.B.U.H) will come, HE(P.B.U.H) will be as young as 33, HE will get married and have kids and then die, a natural death.
4. HE(P.B.U.H) will convert all the JEWS and CHRISTIANS to the religion of ONE GOD, ISLAM(you may not like to read this).
5. most importantly, PROPHET ISA(P.B.U.H) will come 40 years before the DAY OF JUDGEMENT

Please note: the phrase "Ye shall not know the day nor the hour" is meant as a warning to those who would presume to predict any time period for Jesus' second coming. It's not meant literally, but as a way for Christians to recognize charlatans who entice with predictions of the century, decade, year of Christ's return. There is no mathematical formula. The calendar (as we know it in Western world)was revised at least twice since Jesus' resurrection. Why wouldn't this have occurred already, if Jesus was true to the calendar in use while he was on earth (I believe the Jews celebrated the new year, 5,768, recently)?

Jesus clearly informs us in the bible that no man knoweth the hour nor the day that He shall appear. Only the Father which is in heaven knows. So, no matter what means we try and use to determine His return, we can't. The proper thing to do, is not to try and predict His return but, to be ready when He does return. That is what's most important. He clearly states that not even the angels of His return. So, just get yourself ready and stay ready, okay?

There WAS NO YEAR ZERO.

The Europeans devised the calendar, but DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF ZERO, so for the calendar, December 31, 1 BC was followed by January 1, 1AD. There was no intervening year.
