Im watching the Da VInci code right now and it just keeps bringing up this question.. why is it so hard for people to belive that Jesus was capable of fathering a child? As its said he died for our sins, what if that is considered as one aswell? Ultimately he was MAN! and until he met his death he was a mere human
any insights?

Da Vinci Code is a Fiction or an Attempt to find the truth about Jesus and his true life but character of Mary Magdalene will always be a serious question for Christianity!

Mary Magdalene was the leader of the earliest Christian faith. She was appointed by Jesus to be a leader. Simon Peter was the suppressor of Feminism in Christian faith accordingly the writers of 4 Gospels did not mentioned the roll of women in faith and religion.

Gospel of Thomas 1:14
Simon Peter said to all other disciples "Let Mary Magdalene go out from among us because women are not worthy of life".

However other agnostic Gospels do mention and praise feminism like:

Gospel of Philip (150AD)
Mary Magdalene was the companion (wife) of Jesus.

Gospel of Thomas.
Jesus said " see! behold, I will lead herso that...she, too by becomming a male can become a living spirit resembling you male. For every woman who makes herself a male will enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

Synoptic Gospels could not remove the existance and role of Mary magdalene because she was always first and present when the male disciples were absent.

This type of relation can only be expected with the closest companion - wife!

Church made several attempts to ignore her roll even she was blamed as prostitude by some Popes but the character is so strong and firm that Christianity cannot ignore her as companion / wife of Jesus!

while you're touching on the area interior the actual bible the place he's crucified, then something pointing out Mary Magdalene and Jesus being married and having a toddler has been faraway from the bible by utilising Empire Constantine and the Council of Trent. yet what you will possibly desire to bear in strategies is that, even thoughts telling some authentic journey, the suited way of telling the story replaced into by utilising somebody telling somebody else. thoughts vacationing by utilising notice of mouth tend to be replaced basically a tad or drastically. So attempt to no longer get hung up on info. Pray, think of, and learn. the reality will come to you, it continually worked for me.

My belief is that Jesus was not a mere human. First of all, He was with the Father since the beginning of time, probably before that, and since Adam ate the apple , He knew of His mission on earth(to pay the price of sin, for all mankind), hence , the profits told of his coming thousands of years before he was here. Secondly , He was born of a virgin, through the power of God. Third, He performed many , many miracles while on earth , including walking on water, healing the blind ,and the sick ,and even bringing the dead back to life.If you believe the Holy Bible , which i obviously do, then you believe that He was, and is, the only perfect man that ever walked on the earth , and furthermore He is the Alpha and The Omega , The Beginning and The End. That does not sound like a mere human to me.
Now , all that said, I certainly don't believe that having children is a sin, ( unless its done out of wedlock)however I don't believe that Jesus had any children, and i'll tell you why, It says nothing about him being married in the Bible , and it says nothing about him having children. Surely, had he had children, his disciples and many others whom carried on the story of Jesus, would have known this , and i believe definately would have mentioned them in there writings . e.i. Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John .
I would advise you to not get your truth's about Jesus from Hollywood movies, or even me for that matter , but get them from the Ultimate Source ,because I am in no way an authority on this. I was raised in church but have since gone astray, however I still believe that GOD IS REAL because i have seen his work in my own life ,even tho im an active sinner, He still pours His mercy upon me.
Thank you for your question , it was very thought provoking.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU

There is no reference in the Gospel (from those who knew Jesus best) to any sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene. Also, the Da Vinci code suggests that Jesus wasn't really the Messiah, but "just a teacher", something atheists have been trying to suggest for decades (as far as I know). If Jesus wasn't the son of God then he was a liar, therefore not a very good teacher, right? So the Da Vinci code is an attempt to character assasinate Jesus, as I see it.

The Da Vinci code is a fictional story. During the course of the novel it is alleged that the Catholic Church is perpetuating a major, centuries-long conspiracy to hide the "truth" about Jesus Christ from the public, and it or its agents are willing to stop at nothing, including murder, to do so.

How can anyone believe that this plot is not fictional?

Jesus was a man, but he's God also. From what the scripture says, He came to fulfill a mission to bring humanity back to fellowship with the father. That was the only reason why he was here. And your kind of bringing up questions from a movie, where its sources are not proven and are mere speculations.

Yes, Jesus is truly man and truly God. He is like us in all things but sin.

While Jesus was capable of fathering a child, he did not. As a Jew, he would have to be married and the scriptures make no reference to this.

He was God AND man when he met his death.

I suggest you read the gospels or watch a video on the life of Jesus.

The Bible is truth.....the Da Vinci Code is fiction.

I hope this helps. God bless.

hmmm...I've watched Da Vinci code too but I don't believe that theory...Dan Brown has a wild imagination!

If Jesus knew he had a child...why did he want to die? Wouldn't he like to raise his child up?

Those questions are unanswerable since JESUS DID NOT HAVE A CHILD. I've heard i think from church that Jesus said that He was God and its true. God came in the form of man, in the form of Jesus. God loves us all equally so its simply impossible!

Could does not mean did.

Any belief that Jesus fathered a child is baseless.

You can't simply slip in anything you want (i.e. Jesus had a thing with Mary Magdalene) in between the revelations of scripture.
