YES!!! It sounds like they are going to the hospital either in the case of an emergency or out of the goodness of their hearts. If it is akward for them to call and ask, then Im sure they have already tried other people and you would be the last resort. If not, then it is still the decent human thing to do.

Unless they had done something unforgivable or terrible during the relationship where it made me know that it was better for me to keep my distance, I would help out in a case like this.

It's not like they need a ride to McDonalds to pick up a midnight Big Mac!

Are you still friends is my first question, I mean were you talking etc before he just rang in the middle of the night?
Because if you weren't then hes taking the p***.
Saying that if think I'd feel bad for the person that was in hospital, but even so I'm sure he could of found someone else to ask!

sure I would give them a ride, a parent in the hospital is a terrible thing and I would not want that on my conscious if they passed away and I was the one who caused them not to see them before they died

Yeah sure,it's a considerate thing to do. Although I would ask a relative first, because the significant other might have work.

It would depend on a lot of things. How long we were together, and how close we were.

I agree with gunner. On the same note, once you start doing someones laundry, that can be a permanent thing also.
