Jesus Christ is the Image of God.
I will use you as an example "Saint Lucifer":
With you coming on the internet you have your body that is behind the screen which would be "like" your being, then the picture you have for others to see is the "image" that portrays who you are or to describe who you are, and than the text that you type to put on the internet would be "like" the spirit of you.
I know you didn't directly ask about the trinity, but that is how God Almighty, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit work.
God is the entity behind the Image of God whom is Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are the things that Jesus Christ did, and said while He was here on earth.
God Bless You!
God Be With you Always!
When you or anyone else looks at my avatar, you are looking at God Almighty directly! AND He is looking at you to.
EDIT:
LineDanc... looking at the Image of God is looking at God Almighty directly because when we are judged, that will be the one to judge people. The Image of God. Now please tell me, if that is the Powerful One or not?
LineDanc...I tried answering your question but failure notice.

He is not a god, he IS God... ok think about it this way... myself, I am a mother, a daughter and sister... I am still me, yet different roles and different actions and different tasks... all the same, but different aspects. It is the same with Jesus. He is God, the same way the Father and the Holy Spirit are the same God... it is an concept you may not get with the human mind and reasoning, maybe only by your spirit.
Hope this helps. Take care, God bless

Jesus is a god, but not Almighty God. At John 17:3, Jesus called his Father the only true God.
For those that think Jesus was God in the flesh, I ask: If Jesus was God in the flesh, who is God's Son?

don't u think it is better to follow him rather than discussinig his being God or not?
Mt. Everest is highest, K2 may be a little lower, but what difference does it make, if we are unable to climb either? For us both are unreachable.
Similarly, the greatness of jesus is so high, even if he is slightly lower than God, he is still worthy of worship.
May be my comment may seem off-line to many, but in spirituality, we learn this. Raise your level by following good norms of living.

I believe that Jesus was a Prophet. And I think he'd be horrified to know how he is being worshipped, when that isn't what he was about at all.
People are pretty thick with the rubbish they make up and then preach at truth..

John 1:1; '... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John1:14; '... And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth'.

Jesus never said he was the God, it is people who started gospel for their own benefit. Organised religion has proved to be more dangerous than the totalitarian states.

To me, he is the son of God from what I have learned and know. But I do worship him and pray to him as a God as I do God :)

"Loving of enemies is another dogma of feigned morality, and has beside no meaning....Those who preach the doctrine of loving their enemies are in general the greatest prosecutors, and they act consistently by so doing; for the doctrine is hypocritical, and it is natural that hypocrisy should act the reverse of what it preaches." – Thomas Paine
"The Bible was established altogether by the sword, and that in the worst use of it -- not to terrify but to extirpate." --- Thomas Paine
"What is it the Bible teaches us? -- rape, cruelty, and murder." – Thomas Paine
Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we called it the word of a demon than the Word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind."
-Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason, 1794
Christianity cannot live in peace with any other form of faith. -- Robert Ingersoll
