Who would win a WW2 F-4 or todays F-18?

In actuality with guns only the WW2 F-4 would have a greater advantage with the slower speed. If the F-18 couldn't use it's technology it's just a fast hot rod that can't turn with the F-4 corsair.

Thats a no brainer. While the Corsair is slower and can turn tighter than the F18, the Hornet wins easily.
The F4 had no internal computer system save for the pilot. It was a point and shoot, readjust your aim, shoot again system.
The F18, with its internal computers and locking mechanisms would easily chew apart the slower and less agile Corsair.
The Hornet would be out of range before the Corsair pilot could react and the Corsair is using .50 cal rounds where as the Hornet pilot is gunning with 20mm explosive rounds.
Would be interesting to watch, but short lived.

In WWII the f-4 would win back then the pilots relied on dog fighting, today with the f-18 pilots dont really need dog fighting. pilots today can hit a target six miles away with its missles, and in WW2 there was alot of dog fighting.
plus in Nam when the f-4 served the pilots had superior dog fighting skills.
so for your anwser the f-4 would dominate in WWII

Limiting the fight to guns only wouldn't be enough to make the fight even. The F-18, using its radar and superior speed would be able to attack through the clouds and evade attack by going supersonic. Now, if you take away radar and supersonic speed the fight would be between pilots not machines and I think the F4U pilot would probably have the edge as would any fighter pilot of that era regardless of nationality or aircraft by virtue of their training.

Umm... look up in anes on the speed, climb, etc between teh two aircraft.
It wouldnt be close. Plus the electronics would make te point moot. The F4 would never see what shot it down

AK 47 is the best guns to use in dogfight, but I would ask Miceal Vick, he knows better than me when it comes to dogfights..

F-18 will win because of superiority and advance technology with the use of all its guns and weapons.

The F-18 wouldn't even need to fire it's guns.
The shock wave of a Mach 1.6 flyby would shake the F-4 to peices.

Corsair F-4U will destroy the F-18 because of the low speeds available. the F-18 can not go that slow and deliver as much firepower each pass.
