I'd grieve, simple as that. And as for whether God willed it . . . I've been brought up to believe that God has a reason for doing everything, that there is a reason behind every action no matter how good or bad. So I would believe that God had a reason for making him/her kill him/herself. Maybe they were in pain, and God wanted them out of their suffering . . . we can't understand everything God does. Maybe we shouldn't try to.

God gave us the power to make our own choices. He does not will bad things to happen to us. Rather he is like a loving parent who stands by and watches us make one mistake after another. I'm sure he sometimes scratches his head and shakes it and hopes I will learn from my mistakes. I'd like to think he has a good sense of humor when he watches me mess up. He's probably thinking "I don't know about that one, she's such a mess" , "oh well, god'll love her!" As far as "what I would do if someone in my family committed suicide?" I have had someone in my family commit suicide. I remember thinking I wish that the pain that he had been in had been more apparent to all of us. Then maybe we might have let him know more often how much we loved and admired him. Maybe he would have felt wanted and needed. Then he might not have felt so alone and discarded. If only my uncle had known how much his love meant to us we wouldn't be missing him now. So now I hope I have learned from this mistake and I make it a point to tell those who are important to me how much I love them and how glad I am that they are a part of my life. Yes, life probably would have been much easier if God had made us perfect without fault but I think it shows even more how much he truly loves us because he gave us free will . So we could each make the choice whether or not we would choose to believe in him. .I do believe every person has that right.. to choose for themselves.

God doesn't will people to do anything. Suicide is an act of selfishness in some people's eyes. But in few cases, like the elderly who'd like to die with some dignity or the most extreme case illness where the pain doesn't ease & there will never be a "better", I think a person should be well within reason to have an assisted suicide.
If someone in my family did it, I would trust their judgment. In the Bible it says God knows how many hairs are on each of our heads. He knows our path before we approach it. I'm sure He's got some one on call to cover the shift.

I'd be really bummed, but because I don't believe in God as such I wouldn't say he'd willed it.
I will say I find it curious how many people have answered this saying "Well I'd be sad but God didn't will it," but I suspect they *would* say God had willed it if someone had been sick and died, especially if that someone was far too young to die otherwise.
In fact I know for a fact they would, I've experienced it. Frankly I find it easier to deal with this kind of ridiculousness as random, instead of as part of a plan.

God didn't will it. There are consequences to our own behaviors that have nothing to do with God. I am sorry if someone in your family did this. I once had people my parents referred to as "Uncle" and "Aunt" even though they were not blood relatives. The Uncle killed himself and so did their two sons. One son shot himself in the head on Christmas day while talking to his wife who was on the other end of the phone. Very sad. Pathetic. The Aunt lost her husband and two sons to suicide. I felt very sad. I wonder what happened to her. I think she must be dead now. Not by suicide but who would live after that.

Everyone is always in charge of their own fate and destiny. Taking your own life and blaming God for it, does not take away that responsibility.
God does not exist - therefore cannot will it. Same for the devil, etc etc.
You cannot stop anyone from killing themselves - because if they are determined at it, they will do it. You cannot be with them always. You can only give guidance and support, and notice the signs beforehand... hoping for the best.
Life here in this reality is precious and should not be wasted. We actually come here to do things - and exiting is not one of them...

Would depend on who in my family!!! only joking.
Yes, I would say its Gods will.
I am a great believer in spirit and I feel that although I would be upset, I would cope knowing what I know.
My mum died an alcaholic and I went to a church meeting last week and she came through.
The medium told me exactly how, where and when she had died and said that she was to tell me that my mums hair had grown (she used to shave it as she couldnt look after herself and would often be sick in it.
Based on my experiences, yes there is a something out there and I believe that our bodies are like clothes, we throw the old one away when it gets tatty and get a new one.

I don't know what I would do and hope I never have to find out, but I wouldn't say God willed it. Allowed it, I suppose, but not willed it. People have free will.

I'd take a couple days off of work, attend the funeral and say that they themselves willed it.

That depends...
if they already had children, I'd be pretty sad for the kids.
If they didn't, I would probably feel sad for the people they left behind. Then I'd submit their name to the Darwin Awards.
