My 7 year old son is constantly itching his gentials and buttocks (and not because it feels good) I keep putting powder on him to keep him dry but an hour later he's itching again. He doesn't have a rash or anything, he just always itching. It's been happening on and off since September. Any advice?

if you are in US it is already winters there... the itching may be due to dried skin due to indiscriminate use of soaps and cleansers in daily bath... we should use less cleaning agents during winters... as the humidity goes down drastically... eventually the skin becomes dry... and the sticking dead cells flakes initiate itching...

use less soaps and cleansers... apply plenty of moisturising lotions... as much as required... even twice a day... and at bed time also... itching will go...

About six weeks ago I became itchy from my hair to my toes. My doctor diagnosed it as dry skin and recommended either Oil of Olay or Dove soap. I also bought some Oil of Olay body cream, which he said to slather on while wet from your shower and then, in a few minutes, pat it off gently. I am going to explore some of the other products in these two brands, as well. It worked!

#1 check and see if he's allergic to the soap you're using.
#2 make sure he's drying off completely before getting dressed after showers.
#3 See a doctor immediately

Changing detergents can do that. Try using a different detergent or double rinsing his clothes. He may be developing an allergy to the detergent you use.

Are you using Tide? My little brother turned out to be sensitive to the laundry detergent my mom was using. She switched to something else and that worked out.
