Buy you a different fridge and pay off the house with the rest. Good Lord - I've been wandering through life not knowing there could ever possibly be a refrigerator with a price tag of $2695. That's just out in orbit!

I won't discuss the price aspect because that's a decision for you to make on where you spend your hard earned money. But the unit is only a total of 20.9 cubic feet. You can certainly get by with that amount of space if you have to, but I bought the largest combination frig/freezer that I could find when I moved into my house.
I was limited in space due to walls and counters, but mine is about 24 cubic feet. I do fine with the frig space (sometimes, it takes some careful consideration for parties or holidays, etc. to get everything in) but I couldn't buy freezer items on special or make items to freeze ahead until I got a stand alone freezer that now lives in my attached garage.
If this retro frig is sized like the old ones were, the space it's going to take up will be the same as a newer designed unit with more inside capacity. Check their specifications page - you have to leave 4 1/2" open next to a fixed wall so you can get the door open.
These are just a couple of thoughts for you to consider.
Enjoy your new home. It's always a thrill when it's your own.

In my opinion you cannot spend too much money on a major kitchen appliance, you should always buy the best you can afford, my feelings on this one are, that you are paying a lot of money for the design, as the functions on this are pretty low spec, its not overly big in cubic feet inside and ice and water are an optional extra, you will be able to buy, still in retro style, a better spec for the same money elsewhere, i would shop around, it looks fab, no doubt, and thats important, but there are other factors to be taken into account, functionality etc, and you can have it all, happy shopping!
and the reason retro is so expensive at the moment is because they are very "in" at the moment, last year it was BIG silver ones with ice & water dispensers on the front, this year its retro

I know you say you are into retro style but, that is quite expensive for a refrigerator.
I wouldn't pay that.
I would go with a basic refrigerator from sears and buy the service contract.
We buy most of our appliances from sears and they aren't too bad. We pay the extra for the service contract which comes in handy. They come out and clean the refrigerator for you and if it breaks down then you can get it fixed.

The first obvious question would be, depends how much money you have. If your loaded, then who cares about 3gs
But you can buy for about the same amount a range, a fridge, and a dishwasher from costco by whirlpool energy star all stainless steel. I have a bunch of subzero stuff but i think your spending too much. again if you have money who cares but the fridge your getting is kinda of funky anyway (but id have to see your house if its old school then it might be perfect, still too much dough)

Yeah that is a lot of money for a refrigerator, but if you have a lot of money and i mean a lot then go for it,and send me some money to lol. In on the other hand if you don't then just buy a refrigerator that's not so high, and buy some red paint or what ever color you want and paint it lol, well that's what i would do.

Personally I wouldn't spend that much on it. But since it's your money.... lol...A good fridge about 15 cubit feet shouldn't cost no more then $900 to $1200. I'm sure you can put the balance of your money to better use. I suggest that you might want to shop around first.
Best wishes

Dont go for retro, it will give you endless problems. Buy modern computerised GE models.

Yes, that's a bit much, but if you like it ask the store about coming down on the price and keep talking with them about a price you can agree on. If they won't I would recommend keep on looking.

For me, it would be too much, especially since it's so small and doesn't include the icemaker or beverage dispenser. Those options add several hundred more $ to the price.
