You must treat your cat for fleas either buy some Frontline or take her to the vets for treatment, then vacuum your house thoroughly washing all bedding and cushions etc, Flease don't bite everyone some people seem to have an immunity but I would think if it is your cat it probably spends more time in your room therefore more flea eggs & fleas in your carpets or rugs that will bite you

Everyone has different susceptibility to all insect bites. It's the same for animals. Treat your animals with something proper from a vets, like Frontline, and then no one will be getting bitten.
