Jesus is God... and praying to the virgin mary is anti-biblical.. the bible says:
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
there's no one else any one should be praying to besides God.. Jesus only.

The Bible does not say Mary is the mother of God. Gabriel told Mary that her son would be called the SON of God, NOT God himself. (Luke 1:35)
Jesus did not say we should pray to Mary or ask her for anything. Instead, Jesus instructed his followers to pray to his Father ONLY thru Jesus. Matt. 6:9; John 14:13, 14

If you're a believer of "one God in three," the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, then yes. Mary as the Mother of Jesus can intervene...Pray to Her all you want..She is the Virgin Mother, the "chosen one" by God...she is revered by God.. ask Her for her intervention......Blessings......

Prayers to Mary are requests for her intercession on our behalf to her Son. Basically we are asking her to pray for us or our intentions. All of the saints and angels can intercede for us in this way. Our blessed Mother by virtue of her humility and adherance to the Fathers will was given the grace necessary to become truly the mother of God, Jesus Christ. What son would deny his mother anything? The saints can hear our prayers, after all they share in the glory of God.

First off, Catholics do not "pray" to Mary. We ask Mary for intercession - in the same way that others put up "prayer requests" to their congregations. Have you ever asked someone to pray for you or someone else you know? why bother, why not go straight to God.
In reality, you'll find most Catholics do not practice this much any more. I agree with a previous post - we are called to pray to God in the name of Christ. (does anyone pray to the holy spirit?)

Mary said "Please pray to Jesus.I am his mother and i intercede for you to him .But all prayer goes to Jesus.I will help. I will pray, but everything does not depend only on me. It depends also on your strength and those who pray"
EDIT...To Wally and others who are ignorant about Mary.
Do you realise you are offending God and his Mother with your wrong information about Mary? How can you call yourselves Christians ?
Mary was not a sinner. Long before she was conceived in the womb of her mother Anna,Mary was anthologically conceived and sanctified for the divine purpose,so that we could also apply to her work of the Lord ,which came to Jeremiah.
"Before i formed you in the womb-i knew you-and before you were born,i consecrated you" JER.1:5
Mary was from the beginning "endowed with grace"[Kecharitomene] or in the more familiar translation "full of grace" (LK1:28) To be filled with grace is to be in the opposite condition from that of original sin.
Do you understand? Mary was born without sin of any kind.
So Wally, how was Mary a sinner? Are you sure you have the correct Bible from the over 50 versions in English alone ?
Mary has been appearing to people over the last 1000 years.
All the apparitions have been well recorded, documented authenticated and thoroughly investigated to dismiss as fantasy or misguided spiritual fervour.
If you have a problem accepting these apparitions then you cant really say you love God, or even believe in Him.He was the one who sent Mary to us with her messages.

Do not be silly. Nothing of this is said in the bible and Mary was just a person who was also a sinner like all of us. We need to pray directly to the Source.

Why haven't you been paying attention? Don't you know?
We only pray to God, not his Son, not Jesus' mother, but only God himself, in Jesus name. Where in the Bible does it ever say to pray to Jesus or his mother???
For example:
Dear God, please help me to come to attain accurate knowledge of you and your word so that I can bring my life in harmony with you and steer clear of the wicked worldly teachings. I want to walk with you and your Son, Jesus, not satan who is currently the ruler of this world. Thank you God, "in Jesus name", Amen.
Don't forget this and continue to pay attention.

"And when God said, 'O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say unto men, "Take me and my mother as gods, apart from God"? He said, 'To you be glory! It is not mine to say what I have no right to. If I indeed said it, you would have known it, knowing what is within my heart, though I do not know your knowledge; you know the things unseen. I only said to them what you did commands me: "Serve God, my God and your God." (Al-Maida 5-116)
Say: He is God, the One and Only!
God, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him.
