ive been talking to this guy for over a year and we act like we r a couple but he says we r not together yet because he is not ready for a relationship

Date more with others. It will wake him up if there is anything in him for you. Otherwise, you're getting out of something that was dead end to begin with.

What do you mean by stay? You mean you hold hands with him and kiss him. Or just purely as friends in a friendship?
If you hold hands and kiss him and he say he is not ready to be in a relationship, then i suggest you move on. Don't waste your time on him. Find someone else better and worthy to be with you.

these are the "not ready for relationship" guys. if you are not in a rush, stay until someone better comes along. if other guys are holding back from approaching you cos they think you are in a relationship, then you should leave your current situation

Hang out as much as you like, just try to enjoy it for what it is.
But don't let him take up your time. And don't be afraid to think about other people.
It sounds like he's looking for an easy out if he needs it, but is happy to string you along in the meantime.
If it's fun, enjoy it. But try not to be too exclusive about it.
