I'm not trying to go religious or be a smart aleck or anything. This is just one of those things I think up in the shower and wonder, "Hmm...I wonder what Christians say." :-)

Acts 16:31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."
Luke 7:50 "And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace."
John 3:15 "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."

Anyone, child or adult, once they understand there is right from wrong/ or there is a heaven and a hell needs to accept the Lord as their savior.
So my answer to your question is no they are not "saved" until they have asked Jesus Christ to come into their lives.
The same is true for the man who marries a Christian. Just because he has married a Christian woman doesn't "save" him from hell. To be "saved" a person must have faith in Jesus Christ, believe He died on the cross for his sins, and ask Him to come into his life.

of course there's a distinction. performing like Christ does no longer mean we are even attempting to grow to be Christians (member of an prepared, Mainstream faith - i do no longer care in the event that they declare that's a private relationship, that's nonetheless a faith). meanwhile i've got considered some Christians act in considered one of those way that could in all threat make Atilla the Hun run for the hills. only because of the fact somebody takes the call "Christian" does no longer mean they act Christ Like and assured as hell do no longer mean they have each little thing precise....

Sinners can only be saved by accepting Jesus as their Savior. No deed can ever earn them eternal life in Heaven. Through Jesus is the only way. The man is still unsaved no matter who he marries unless he makes his own decision to let Jesus in his heart.

Read carefully:

1Cr 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

1Cr 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

No matter what any other Christian says, there are no 'good' people in relation to what God wants from us.

You might appear to be good in the eyes of people, but in the eyes of God; according to the Bible, you are either saved, or not saved.

There is no in between.

Romans 10:9
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

who want to be saved

i think the standard answer will apply here

"What ever brings everyone closer to Jeebus or whatever"

there probably is no rule surrounding this, somone just made it up when it was convenient. disregard as reasonable or logical IMHO.
