I do not believe. If there was or (going on a limb here) is a God, then he/she/it would be beyond our comprehension. The Christian, Muslim, and/or Jewish God is just to asinine and redundant.I just can't believe that something that can't be seen, proved, and heard without using some vague reference to feelings and "visions" and literature is real.It sounds just to much like a delusional state of mind to embrace the human concept of God.And with that said, I just don't place any belief in something that is just so illogical and irrational to actually put my mind into the place I would need to be to believe.

Of Course.
For starters there is nothing in this world that exists without it being created. That being the case something must of created the world. GOD. You might ask "who created GOD?" the answer is nothing-GOD created everything including "CREATION". In addition a few thousand years ago a man (Moses) stood on a mountain and gave a book called the Torah. In this book the claim is made that GOD appeared before 600,000 people (between the ages of 20-60, there were many more present) and "spoke" to the Jewish people. In my opinion if GOD was a made up concept and I was making a claim that it was real, would I claim that the revelation was in front of a multitude of people. NO! I would say "He appeared to me in private". However the Torah dose not make this claim-it clearly states that it was done in a public manner. If this was not true the ability to contradict would be far to easy, and the story would most likely of been lost in history many years ago, but in fact we see this is not the case.
I have more reasons, but I think we all believe in GOD however this belief comes with far to many responsibilities, so we do what humans do best-Avoid reality-Intellectually.

God as in the God of the Jews, Christians and Muslims does not exist. What happened in this case, was 'someone' claiming to be God, who wanted followers and worshippers, etc etc. He appeared to be 'God' or god like to the people of that time - you do know the people then, did not have today's technology, nor knowledge comparable to ours today...
That is how the 'myth' started - and it has been maintained by the various churches that became establishments. And so people today believe in a misinterpretation that was not even correctly understood in it's own time.

Another way of looking at it, is this:
God does not speak to individuals today. If you talk to God everyday and get answers to your questions etc. You would be a prophet? Wouldn't you. And for proof that it is God (the almighty GOD) you want to see miracles happening around you, or fire and brimstone like effects... etc. And if you don't have all that, then you are talking to a lesser God.
Believers quoting God from the Bible, all the time - are very very very boring. Let us see - the Bible is dated from what date to what date? And what is the date of the actual events listed in the bible? How come we don't have more recent records of God's work or presence than in the Bible? After all, how many centuries have passed since the last recording about God? Oh wait, God appeared to Mohammed, in the desert, didn't he? But Islam is a different religion... but Islam recognises Jesus as a prophet (but not a world saviour, nor the Son of God) - and Islam sprang up much later after Jesus...
Basically you have a lot of information that does not make any sense at all, when you start analysing it. And so in come the priests who try to explain it to us, only they make it sound even more complicated and even more confusing. And they would not allow us to use our common sense in reasoning all this out - would they? After all, is their job and livelihood to know what God says, and then explain the meaning to us...

I prefer not to believe in God at all - because this makes more sense, and is clear as day. Because all you ever have, are people talking about and for God all the time. God does not even make an appearance - certainly not anymore, since the Bible was written.
And the world remains unconvinced - because it is easier to trust you own senses, than listen to a preacher all the time. The number of unbelievers and unconvinced, always have outnumbered those who do believe - in a religion or religions.

I hope that will do for now - that you see the sense in what I am writing here - there is a lot more... but that will have to wait.

I believe in God. I have seen things that let me know that he is real. Let me explain. When I was a bout 5 or 6 there was a family who lived in a building around the corner from me who was claiming to have spiritual visions in their home. They opened up their home to the neighborhood so that we could all check it out. My mom decided to take me and on this particular day the sightings were in their bathroom. I remember my mom picking me up to look out of the bathroom window and i saw men and women shuffling around in robes sort of like the kind they wore in the painting of the last supper. They were shuffling around and mumbling, you couldnt hear them clearly but it was the most amazing thing that i had ever seen up to date. Anyway that was 20 years ago and I have never forgotten those images. They are fresh like it was yesterday. For all the sceptics I lived in a really poor urban area as a child so no one in the area had money for special effects and ther also was no cover at the door before viewing.

Yes. Mostly because my heart tells me God is real, but it also makes more sense to the brain than the alternative of no God. If not from God, where did everything come from?

Ah, of course the rejoinder to that is always: if God created the universe, then where did God come from?

Simple reply: Shrug and say "God knows". Human logic is stuck in circles by the question of the "first cause", and always will be. However, it makes more sense to me, intuitively, that *somebody* (God, not humanity) can explain how it all got here than *nobody* (if there is no supernatural).

Hinduism can give some mystical answers .

Who is God? Where is God? How can I come to know God?"

God has no names, but all names are the names of God. Whether you call Him this or that, He remains Who He is. But in our tradition we call God by the loving name Siva, which is only one of His 1,008 traditional names. Supreme God Siva is both within us and outside of us. Even desire, the fulfillment of desire, the joy, the pain, the sorrow, birth and death -- this is all Siva, nothing but Siva.

This is hard to believe for the unenlightened individual who cannot see how a good, kind and loving God could create pain and sorrow. Actually, we find that Siva did not -- not in the sense that is commonly thought. God gave the law of karma, decreeing that each energy sent into motion returns with equal force.

In looking closely at this natural law, we can see that we create our own joy, our own pain, our own sorrow and our own release from sorrow. Yet we could not even do this except for the power and existence of our loving Lord. It takes much meditation to find God Siva in all things, through all things. In this striving -- as in perfecting any art or science -- regular daily disciplines must be faithfully adhered to.

Siva is the immanent personal Lord, and He is transcendent Reality. Siva is a God of love, boundless love. He loves each and every one. Each soul is created by Him and guided by Him through life. God Siva is everywhere. There is no place where Siva is not. He is in you. He is in this temple. He is in the trees. He is in the sky, in the clouds, in the planets. He is the galaxies swirling in space and the space between galaxies, too. He is the universe. His cosmic dance of creation, preservation and dissolution is happening this very moment in every atom of the universe. God Siva is, and is in all things. He permeates all things. He is immanent, with a beautiful form, a human-like form which can actually be seen and has been seen by many people in visions. He is also transcendent, beyond time, cause and space.

That is almost too much for the mind to comprehend, isn't it? Therefore, we have to meditate on these things. God Siva is so close to us. Where does He live? In the Third World. And in this form He can talk and think and love and receive our prayers and guide our karma. He commands vast numbers of devas who go forth to do His will all over the world, all over the galaxy, throughout the universe. These are matters told to us by the rishis; and we have discovered them in our own meditations. So always worship this great God. Never fear Him. He is the Self of your self. He is closer than your own breath. His nature is love, and if you worship Him with devotion you will know love and be loving toward others. Devotees of God Siva love everyone.

This is how God Siva can be seen everywhere and in everyone. He is there as the Soul of each soul. You can open your inner eye and see Him in others, see Him in the world as the world. Little by little, discipline yourself to meditate at the same time each day. Meditate, discover the silent center of yourself, then go deep within, to the core of your real Being. Slowly the purity comes. Slowly the awakening comes.

U need to define 'God', before i can answer that.

If its the Creator, u r talking about...with a human form..who gets annoyed if i don't belive in him & praise him.. Sorry I don't belive in such a supernatural being. Why ?? No man written book is enough to convince me.

If its about the "God" who seems to answer my prayers, i really need to figure out that yet. Human mind is so complex, and can perform wonders.

What I believe in is not as important as to what do you believe in?

I will not directly answer your question but will say that I believe in myself. Why? Because I have lived 60 years, survived a war and Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I have two wonderful daughters. I have two terrific grandchildren. And mostly I have a wife of 37 years who is my best friend.
