My body type is no muscle tone, and a bit of fat around my midsection. I still look pretty skinny, but I do have love handles. I have a VERY sedentary lifestyle.

I'd like to get some muscle, but not a lot. Basically I wanna look kind of like a soccer player

I am going to start running once I get out my wisdom teeth (I am in a lot of pain, and running makes it worse). But what should I eat? Should I try and stuff myself in order to gain muscle (I do pilates), or should I try and limit my calories and focus on being skinny? I have VERY little body muscle, so I don't want to look scrawny (people tell me I look better with "some meat on my bones"), but I want a flat, hard stomach also.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated...

You have to use resistance training to build muscle. Weights, in other words. Learn to love them. I gained about 25lbs of lean mass in the last year. I went from 155lbs to 180lbs with the same bodyfat. Eat a ton, lift hard, sleep alot, and don't stop until you are satisfied.

Eat more protein, and less carbs and fat. If you are looking to firm up then you need to do a lot of reps with lighter weights, if you want to build muscle then use heavier weights with less reps. The diet and exercise will firm you up and make you look like the athlete that you want to. Or at least a little better and healthier than you are now.

good luck.
