The COLDER it IS, the MORE Calories your Body burns to keep it warm. So if you're RUNNING when it's cold out, then you'll burn even MORE calories- and thus lose even more weight (But REMEMBER, the cold will ALSO make you hungrier- so you'll tend to want to eat MORE- to put those calories BACK).

I don't how many calories you burn running, weather it's cold or not. But, I would think you burn more calories just being in the cold because your shivering just to keep warm. :~)

If you didn't burn calories you wouldn't be able to move. You need to "burn calories" or you would have NO energy and not be able to as much as breathe.
You burn calories quicker in the heat than the cold.
How much do you burn depends on your metabolism, intensity and duration.

Ya know thats funny you ask! Because my friend lives in Utah, and she asked me the very same thing! I would say that it is the same regardless, its kind of like the question..... when a cookie gets burnt are the calories still in it? The answer is that it stays the same :)

It really doesn't matter what temperature it is. It matters if your "cold". When you are cold, your body does burn more calories trying to heat itself back up to it's regular temperature.

I'd imagine soo because your body would have to produce more heat, but I don't know for sure though =/
