Hello,

I am 28 years old, and since I became a teen(got more hair), I started to notice that my legs get red/purple spots when I stand for too long, am cold and when I am anxious or nervous... I went to some doctors but they just called it "cold legs", they did not know for sure... the spots don't itch or hurt... they go away if I pressure with my fingers, but after a little while they appear again. When it is hot, they do not appear at all. When I am exercising, they do not appear. When I am laying down, they do not appear. They really bug me, because I cannot wear shorts because I get self-conscious if they show up... I get very insecure, and then I get anxious, and they appear...I believe it is a circulation problem, because after they are gone, my legs look normal, no itching or bumps... PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! If you know anything about this or have any pics that you think might help me identify what I have, I will be FOREVER thankful!!!!! THANKS again for taking your time..

You would have a circulation problem. When they appear from standing too long it is because the blood is pooling in the lowest extremities. You should ask a doctor to check the blood return on your heart. Most of the time it is because your heart is not pumping enough to circulate all of the blood throughout your body. The reason why you do not get the spots when you are hot is because the blood is thinner and can move through your veins evenly. Your blood becomes thick when it is cold. Put your feet up when you notice them, and they should return to normal.
