Get her spayed! I assume your dog isn't registered & papered, and I also assume she hasn't had a complete health check for the specific reason of breeding, and I also assume she is not a completely outstanding example of her breed (though she may be a very cute and wonderful dog). I hope you are not planning to breed her unless she meets those qualifications. 10,000-16,000 animals are euthanized every day in the United States just because there are not enough homes for them, and people keep breeding their pets (or leaving them intact and ready for "accidental" litters). Don't add to the problem.
Along with letting her feel much more comfortable, getting her spayed will prevent her from the all-too-common problems that intact females have, such as uterine/mammary/ovarian cancer, male dogs never leaving them alone, and false pregnancies, which can be traumatic.
Your local Humane Society will have information on low-cost spay programs in your area if money is an issue.

Unless there is a compelling reason not to, you should get her spayed. If costs are an issue, contact your local Humane Society and/or see if there is a PUP (Prevent Unwanted Puppies) organization in your area. Your local pet stores may also have information on low cost clinics.

It's not that she's uncomfortable. It's instinct to do this when they are ready to make little puppies.
My best advice is to get her spayed. That way you don't have to deal with the blood and she does not act weird. It only take a few days for a female to get back to her normal self after being spayed.
Good luck!

Nothing, except getting her spayed or this will go on every 6 months. Also, keep her away from male dogs & don't leave her outside unattended or you'll end up with a unwanted litter.

Just let her be, it will be over before you know. Give her extra love and attention. Sometimes a warm bath makes them feel better,if she likes the water.

What I'm about to propose is a little weird, but it does work and will soothe your dog. Please keep an open mind. I'm not trying to be perverted or disgusting.
If you place your hand on your dog's rump above the tail and kind of wrap your fingers around her bottom without touching, that will give her the sensation of a male dog mounting her.
I know it's weird. It's worked with every female small animal in heat I've ever met.
