You come off as a good listener and an 'easy' date, meaning no emotional commitment involved.

There's nothing wrong with being a little shy. Though taking out someone who is still really hung up on their ex or just someone else in general is never really a very good idea if your looking for something more than friendship. 99 times out of 100 you'll be disappointed and/or your feelings are going to be hurt.

Maybe you just ain't found the right girl. Looking in wrong places. Being shy is not good. Women want a man to talk to them to have good conversation. The next time you go out try talking more. Just ask questions. Anything!!!! Just keep the conversation going. Have not a clue about you but if you are shy ya just got to get over it. Just try not to be shy on your next date and see how it goes. It will all work out. GOOD LUCK

You have to bring YOURSELF out of your shell and open up to people now.
What you did back in school, proms, etc, well you just didn't find the right girl.
But know it sounds like you've crawled into a protective shell, to shield you from the possibility of being hurt.
There is no guarantees in life, you might get hurt again, but you won't know until you try.
Start talking to the girls and smile a lot, it goes a long ways.
Good luck

You need to learn to control your feelings. Just because you date someone, does not mean that they will be the love of your life. It is just a date. Wait a while before letting your feelings get involved. Just enjoy the fun you are having until you see if she is beginning to have feelings for you. After a few dates, you will know more about her, and what may be in store for the future. Don't fall in love right away, just continue to see her, and develop a relationship slowly.

Ok, here's some advice from a chick.
1) be more assertive
2) be vocal about how you feel, we're not mindreaders
3) avoid acting like a friend if u want more out of the relationship
4) START TALKING TO GIRLS, they don't bite :)
5) reevaluate urself, strengthen those weak points and brush up on u'r complimenting skills, girls love to hear sweet, kind words
GOOD LUCK!

There is nothing wrong with you. It just takes time to find the right person. If it were easy there wouldn't be 100's of questions in the "Single and Dating" section every night. So don't be so hard on yourself. We all feel a bit unsure sometimes.

Try to figure out what they miss about their ex's. If you got it try to fill them with it. Esp. when girls try to talk about what they most do during their relationship. Most probably they wanted to do the same.
