I always am - can you please not leave your phone charger in the powerpoint while it is not in use and use the run off from the rinse cycle of the washing machine to water your garden?

There are good reasons for turning the lights out when not in use and there are bad reasons.
First the good reasons:
* To save money on your electricity bill
* To make the light last longer
* To avoid light pollution
* Because you need the dark for some reason
* Because leaving lights on all the time lets criminals see what they're doing and results in people thinking that anyone in a well-lit area should be there
Now the bad reasons:
* Because it will save the environment (if it has an effect there is something seriously wrong with the electricity generation where you live, in France you can leave the lights on all you want with essentially no extra CO2 emissions)
* Because conserving is good (it isn't always)
* Because of some spiritual crap
* Because it's a fluorescent and you'll be out of the room for a few seconds

Down here, the job of turning out lights is done by the electric supply company, who can't provide uninterrupted power for more than few hours at a time. Also, what gratitude can anyone one show when he has nothing to be grateful?Still,Good night and sweet dreams.

How exactly is "conservation of energy" in any way related to spirituality? Energy is a product paid for by customers of the power company. I exchange my money for my power - it's just like any other transaction that I make. Am I supposed to feel more "spiritually enlightened" when I conserve my power for someone else to use at their own expense?

I always turn off my lights. It's getting my kid and his friends to be conservative with them that is my issue with the lights thing.

My light isn't on!
Not because I'm trying to show respect or anything.
I just like the dark.

Of course, we should all be more considerate and conservation conscious of our environment. I'm grateful others think about it. Good night and God Bless.

Sure, and thanks for reminding everyone, we all need t be more conservative, and if we all pitch in we can come closer to maintaining what is left of our earth's health, and our precoius fuel resorces.
