My friend think she has it, & she's 12.

Had you given some more details it would have been better to tell you exactly the possibilities of getting cancer. There have been cases that even children on 6-8 years have got cancer. So it is possible to get cancer for a 12 year old age. Please see the following link which is an example for a 12 year old getting cancer. -

Yes they can. Anyone can have cancer. I have alittle cousin named Andrew who is now 4 years old and he has had cancer since he was 2 years old. He is doing good. The Chemo sux but he is our "Miracle baby" he has actually died twice...but by the grace of God he is still here. Cancer has no respect of persons....It doesnt discriminate... But my suggestion to you would be to take the child to the doctor ASAP!! The earlier the cancer is detected the better. My prayers...

Depends on the cancer but in general, YES. Any age can get cancer. You need routine labs first to determine this.

mm- to answer a general question like this..
CANCER picks and choses whom it "gets' - so yes a 12yr can have cancer..
There are reported cases of even younger children..
But you say she thinks she has CANCER - what makes her think that??
HAs she spoken to her parents?
Have you said something to your parents??
To me - i guess coming on here trying to find an answer in one way is a step - BUT think the Biggest step in right direction would to speak to an adult and get some true answers - like from tests etc..

Childhood leukemia is not at all uncommon. But there are may be many signs and symptoms or there may be none. If she's definitely concerned. Have her get a blood-test.

Many have died prior to that age.. Need to get some confirmation of what is taking place and get appropriate treatment.
