This is kind of nasty so...
No twelve year old boy answers either please.
Alright..Someone said that you are supposed to have a least two really good sized ones. I have one or two a day but they aren't really big like she said they should be. They aren't small but...well..you get it.. Do I need to eat more fiber? How many is a healthy person actually supposed to have?

Well, I don't eat any meat..no matter what the amount and I'm 20 and haven't ever been constipated in my life..not once. Someone once told me that wasn't possible...I thought that was very sad..and that I wouldn't want to be them.
I wasn't talking about taking a fiber supplement either I like to fix things by eating the right foods not taking vitamins or something. I was wondering more if my fiber intake was good enough.
My mom is a nurse and she said the reason poo floats is due to cholesteral intake/cholesteral in the poo makes it float...Mine doesn't float.
Thanx everyone for the great answers.

A healthy person should have at least one BM a day. That way you know that waste is moving out of your body.
Something that I learned a couple of days ago, is; when it floats in the water, you know you are getting enough fiber. And let me tell you it is hard to get that much fiber. LOL

You're talking about PEOPLE here... & whenever you do THAT- you have to take into account all the VARIABILITY that comes with your Subject. For Example; at one time in my life- I averaged 2 to 3 BMs a WEEK. I was healthy. Never got sick. & didn't know what Constipation WAS. Now, several decades later, I'm averaging almost 2 BMs a DAY, I'm healthy. Haven't been sick this year YET ("knock-knock-knock...") & STILL don't suffer from Constipation. So what IS "healthy" & a good "supposed-to" degree of "regularity" ??? The ANSWER- is probably ANYBODY'S guess! So if I were YOU, I'd take my "cue's" from how I felt. If you're healthy, don't get Constipated often, and don't get sick much- either, - then DON'T try to "fix" what isn't broken! :)

It is supposed to be every time you eat something, something should exit the body. For me normally I go anywhere from 5 to 7 times a day. If I do not go that much, I dont feel well and know that I have lacked in my fiber or water intake

I wonder this too. I think men go more than women. I go only once per day but my husband goes 3-4 times!! We both eat almost the same diet too. I think if you're eating lots of leafy greens and other healthy foods you are fine. (BTW, never heard that you are supposed to have 2 really good sized ones a day...??)

Eating the right foods plays a big part on a persons BM's. A person should average 2 decent BM's a day. Different people have different systems.

HI,
As mentioned above, we are all different, what's 'normal' for one can be very ' abnormal' for another. Judging from the Veggie Lover name I take it you're getting enough fiber so if you are comfortable during the day, comfortable during the bowel movements and don't feel pressure that you ignore, I'd say you're doing just fine. In fact, I know people that would envy you!

well when my mom ran an adult foster care home the residents would freak out if they did not have a BM at least once a day, and that's about average, you can go 2 days w/o one but i would not recommend going more than 3 days w/o. also depending on how much you eat in a day is gonna reflect in the end result. ( no pun intended)

Depends on your diet. I would talk to your doctor before going on fiber or anything. It may be for what you eat that is ok. Most doc's say one lg to two small a day. But if you eat alot of meat or no meat that can change. Diet, stress, weight, activity can all play a part. Drinking to much soda can make you go more, to much cheese can make you not go at all...lol. just talk to your doc and see what he/she says.

Assuming that BM = Bull Mustache I would say one would suffice but if you have more just learn to enjoy them all cause there could come a day when you might not be able to have any.
