guys, would you just give up" on your love interest nearing exams?

Question

the background: we have been friends 10 months. we see each other once a week for an hour, we'refrom different schools, hardly have a chance to talk in class. he does stuff like, gaze at me in class, and when i catch him, looks away. he changes his bus route for mine.

talks v easily to girls but mumbles alot to me and doesn't dare touch me as well. he made like he wanted my no on that bus trip but he kept his phone. when we're alone, he'd come up to me to talk, tell stories, jokes, and ask lots of stuff about me. if he's at the road junction and he knows i'm a distance behind, he'd turn right round to wave.if we don't talk, he just waves hi/bye, stuff like that.

he's still staring (up to a week ago) but when i texted him asking how is he. he takes like 2 days to reply.(i only text him once a month) he usually takes long, but not this long.he's usually like that ard exams. is he "giving up" or is it just exams? thanks

i can't imagine him putting in so much effort and then giving up suddenly. he's pretty shy around me. and, i think he might know i like him, cause he's caught my gaze a few times though i look away. and, i text him once a mth or something to ask how's he getting on.

This reminds me of me when I was young.

I'd be willing to bet it's just exams. Get through this and then try to find some way of making him feel comfortable around you. It's tough for guys like him (and me) to say anything to the girl we like. I did the exact same things growing up; we do eventually grow out of it.

BTW, I've been married twenty-five years now; if I can overcome, so can he. Help him out if you really like this guy. Sometimes we just need a little confidence booster.

He may well be busy with exams. Just text him again after exams and tell him that you hope he did well.
