okay, so assuming i only use it every once in awhile when i'm having problems staying up to study for a test or writing a paper, could i get addicted to it if it's like taking speed? will it affect my sleeping patterns? my thought process? also, will my work be affected negatively by taking it?

adderall has kind of a reverse effect on people without ADD. It makes you very hyper instead of relaxed. I've taken it before and I felt like I took a hit of speed. It does make you focus and concentrate though.

[Edit] Adderall is a powerful drug. I wouldn't advise using it regularly without a doctors prescription. When I took it I took three pills, which is WAY too much for one helping, If you take it maybe once a month for things like studying or to help you concentrate on those late nights, I don't think it would be a big deal. If you have any negative effects from taking just one pill I would stop taking them immediately.

It has the BLACK BOX label...which means it can and has caused many deaths in people taking it as prescribed.

If you don't have ADHD it won't work...it makes you jittery, can't sit still, if you try to focus on something you can't...if you try your hardest still no.

I speeds up your heart rate to an unbelivable rate...if you have any kind of blood clot..or heart problem (you can have one and not know it.that's how people die of strokes/unknown blood clot) you can wind up taking a ride in an ambulance...and staying in the hospital....it has caused many heart attacks on young heatlhy children. IT CAN KILL YOU. Know that. K. Add that into the decision making process of whether or not to take it.K

Yes it is, if you abuse it. If it's a recreational thing or something you only do once in a great while, you'll be all right.

By the way, America, from the mouth of a former addict,

DON'T DO DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later

and Good luck

It can become highly addictive.

I had a bit of a problem with it for about a year. I don't suggest trying it for recreational use. You'll end up miserable.

adderall is extremely hard on the liver, those who take it need to have their liver functions tested regularly. You only have one liver, you can't live without it, why would you risk damaging it if you don't need the drug?

hi, i am a registered nurse and just happened to see your question. in a person with add, adderall is wonderful because it calms them and stimulates their ability to concentrate, in a person without add or adhd, adderall is the same as scoring pure speed
