The shaking could be a fear or stress reaction, but there is no fever present. Do not administer human medicine; if you had a friend with a fever, would you give them animal medicine?

The dog does need to go to the vet and have the wound treated and possibly stitched closed. If your vet is closed and an emergency clinic isn't available, clear any debris from the wound and try to keep the dog still, and wait for morning.

Do not give your dog tylenol. Tylenol along with other human pain medication can strip the linning of the dogs stomach and even cause ulcers. Besides 101 to 102 is the ideal temperature for a dog. As for the shaking you may want to take him to the vet. This could be a concern for an infection.

Good Lord you fool! Take the dog to the vet! 101 is not even a fever for a dog -- it is their normal temperature and giving tylenol will do more harm than good and geez, you don't know squat so take the dog to a vet! The shaking is from PAIN! If you can't properly take care of your dog and you are simply going to NEGLECT its medical needs, then take it to a shelter and at least they will mercifaly put the dog down if they can't find him a home or treat him. It is unbelieveable how many idiots own dogs!

If the wound is 3 in. deep he may need to go to the vet. Normal temp for my dogs is 101- 102. Depending on size you can give them tylenol. If it is a small dog I would use infant meds. But, you should call the vet before giving it to him.

What are you talking about ?? 101 isn't a fever.. A dog is normally about 102.3.. Your dog has no fever.. And you CANNOT give your dog Tylenol..

He has an open wound.. he needs the vet to sew him up, clean him up and take care of things properly.. You obviously are NOT a vet..

without taking her temperature i don't understand ways you understand she has a fever. purely because she feels warm, would not recommend she has a temperature or fever. dogs are different then human beings at the same time as body temperature is in contact. until eventually you took her temperature you do not understand no matter if it truly is higher or not so that you mustn't be wrapping her in ice sheets. purely ascertain she has a large number of water, save her calm and enable her sleep. once you've a rectal thermometer then take her temperature. If it truly is extreme (above 100 and one), you gives you her ice cubes to lick, positioned a funky (not chilly) moist towel on her or positioned a fan on her to help decrease her body temperature. i could purely attempt this if her temperature changed into fairly extreme like 106 or more desirable.

If your veterinarian is currently closed, there is an animal emergency clinic in your area (gotta be) that can provide stabilization for your dog until the morning. The cost of emergency care will probably be less that the cost of treating your dog as the injury progresses overnight .It's really the right thing to do, sometimes things progress so quickly that it could become too late by morning. Please do not let him suffer, he didn't mean to get hurt! He's counting on you.

Get away from the computer now and go to a vet. Ask your breeder (or vet) what human things you can give your dog but NEVER give ur dog human medicine unless advised to do so by a professional.

He is shaking because of pain.
101-101.5 is NORMAL temperature for dogs (it's higher than humans).
I suspect the injury is painful and perhaps an infection is setting in.
He needs to see vet for anti-biotics and treatment of.
In meantime clean out wound with hydrogen peroxide.
You can give a sm. amt. of Tylenol or a baby aspirin,.. but with caution for the pain.
