Have you had any changes in diet? Any new medications? Been taking any over the counter stuff regularly like Advil or Tylenol? It could be a number of things such as that. Really examine if anything has changed recently.

You don't say whether you have been taking any new medications within the last few months. Sometimes a new medication can cause one not to be able to go to the bathroom regularly. If you are on any anti inflammatories or pain medication then you will probably need somethinng like docusate, which is a stool softener. Diet plays an important part in regualar B.M.s. Lot's of water is a very good first step, but daily portions of fruit, green leafy vegetables, and grains will help also. If you can't find the time for these food items then you might try dried fruits, such as dried prunes, raisins, dried apples, etc....Also, if you don't have time for oatmeal or other cereals, then try to eat the granola bars or packages of rice krispy treats. Adding any type of roughage to your diet should be beneficial. Also, warm drinks, such as tea, coffee or hot chocolate will help to relax your stomache muscles, which will also allow them to contract. Good luck & I hope this info will be useful.

Quit taking the tums, this will not help. A more natural diet will help. More fruits and nuts. Do this gradually till you have replaced what you are eating with 90% all natural foods. Do not try to go cold turkey from processed foods, the head aches will be unbearable.

Not sure what you mean by "taking turns;" but a healthy and regular dose of prune juice might help get things moving. On the other hand, I have heard that it's not necessarily necessary to have a b.m. every day.

If this doesn't help, you will want to see a doctor.

A diet with a lot of fibre will help. Try eating Bran Flakes. Other things that might help eating sweet corn (maize), prunes and drinking plenty of water.
Anything that can make you dehydrated will make it more difficult to have a BM. Drinking a lot of alcoholic drinks, coffee or caffeine based drinks will dehydrate you and make it more difficult to have a BM.
The stomach ache is because you are constipated.

well you got it half right, the water is a good thing, but tums CAUSE constipation. Suggest you get some sodium docusate at your local drug store, take one a day and drink at least a liter of water a day. Eat high fiber foods and exercise daily too.

taking any meds? many meds are constipating. PLEASE DO NOT take fiber until you are regular again. Fiber keeps you regular but does not cause a BM. You do not want a fiber brick in your colon. Get a stool softener to keep you regular, but if you need a BM now because of pain or uncomfortable, a stimulant laxative like Dulcolax (bisacodyl) or Senokot (senna) will kick in about 8 hrs. Once you become regular again, by all means, start some fiber.

ditch the simple sugars for high fiber foods, drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day, be sure to get at least a half an hour of cardio in per day (excercise always gets things rolling along), limit intake of dairy and meat products - these will stop you up. If these things don't help it you may want to give your doc a call.
