All I can say is lack of education breeds ignorance and intolerance and this world has enough of that and can ill afford more.
Should you follow it that is your perogitive. Should everyone have education and knowledge of other peoples faiths, YES, it is ignorant not to educate even if it is to protect yourself. To stay in the dark is what cause humanity to nearly plummet after the fall of Rome.
I hope we do not ever follow that path again.
Study them from a logical, education perspective not a practical and engaging aspect. That is the difference between educating and actually participating in what would be a sin.
I hope that makes sense.

The ignorance above me boggles the mind. I don't know where to start.....
There are good witches and bad witches because there are good HUMANS and bad humans. Blair witch is just a legend, not a witch.
Warlock means oath breaker. I'd be REAL careful about you bandy that about in the pagan community.
Satanist don't worship Satan.Even with their "Church" and everything. If you are going to bash something at least learn about it so you don't look even more stupid then you all ready do. MOST satanist are atheist. If they worship anything, they worship themselves.
You can learn whatever you want. I learn about mermaids and unicorns because I have a five year old. That doesn't mean I am going to start believing in them. Fairytopia doesn't exist but I manage to get through the movies. Am I corrupting my mind? Gods I wish. then I wouldn't have to watch this crap with her.
People knowledge is not evil. Stupidity is. Man Satan has you guys fooled doesn't he? Lock your brains in four walls and a book. That'll get you places.

What do you mean study?
It is not a sin to read history books or fantasy novels!
Yes there are good and bad witches and wiccans and neopagans just as there are good and bad Christians.
There's nothing wrong with reading about witchcraft and wicca and the occult, with apologies to the pagans, "Know Your Enemy", however practising the occult ...?
Do you mean you want to read about witches and warlocks or witchcraft in general or about magic?
It is not a sin to read up ABOUT the occult or magic but treat it as just another subject.
You should be aware though that some Christian cults and sects label anything that's mystical as "black" magic" and "Occult" even something as harmless as yoga and meditation!
There's no harm in reading!
But balance reading about the occult with books on reasoning skills and science and logic so you can assess what's nonsense!
The Blair Witch is fiction!
Satanism is a completely different thing from Witchcraft.

as a celtic pagan witch i can say that wolf, terry and heathen daughter were some of the best answers i have read.
please do some balanced research and learn to separate fact from fiction.
i grow weary of continuously educating people about witch craft.
witches are NOT evil. all witches are good witches unless they are not true witches but using the name as a cover for theri own silly antics.
if you look up the history of witches you will be enlightened, but if you only look it up from a religious viewpoint you will find only negative info.
i hope you open your eyes and mind to embrace the beauty of the craft, appreciate it is a path others have chosen, and continue on your own a wiser person
good luck
blessed be

as a Christian Witch I would have to say studying what witches are about is not a bad thing but to turn your back on God is if you are a Christian < part 1 of question!
as there are "good & bad Christians, there are also good & bad witches" < part 2 of question!
Yes there are "Satan worshipers out there but they may not even be practicing witches! Just worshipers

I think everyone needs to hear both sides, not just from Christians but also from Wicca and other points of view.As long as I have been a pagan I have never meet a devil worshiper, witches and pagans do not believe in heaven and hell or any devils. We are responsible for our own wrong doing we do not blame them on a devil or any thing else.We don't try to recruit people into being witches we encourage people to study and respect different religions. We also know that everyone has free will and must follow their own path.
(Many blessings)

The word "Witch" is a Christian product of fear. They used the label to murder people of the crafts. The murdered Herbalists, Bone setters, Animal callers, Dowsers, midwives, healers, potion makers, etc., and called them Witches because of a rotten translation of the old testament where Witch was placed in translation of a Hebrew word that translated correctly as sorceress, If you dig back for enough into the origin of the Hebrew word it truly means healer and oracle...
That those of the many crafts choose to wear the label Witch in these days, has turned Witch from a buzz word of Christian hate to Pagan love.

It is a fact that some people worship Satan. You can look it up. They even have an official "Church," tho the worst of them don't belong to it because it is too law-abiding.
There are also "good" witches in the sense that they do not pursue evil as a way of life. They are a kind of pagan religion, they can work for good or evil depending on the individual, just like everybody else. These are not devil worshipers, but their beliefs and actions vary widely.
Now, maybe you are not asking whether people worship Satan or engage in pagan religious practices, but whether they are able to perform supernatural actions as they claim. I am not able to answer this with certainty, but I imagine that sometimes they can, for whatever reason; but like the rest of us, they usually deal with the natural world. People who want to do good, usually do it without resorting to magic or miracles; and people who want to do evil, likewise can do so without resorting to the supernatural.
