Sorry, the definition of an immigrant is an individual who is in the process of becoming a member of a nation of which he/she is not a native born. Once that person becomes a naturalized Citizen he/she is no longer an immigrant. He/she may still need to assimilate into the culture, and language but a couple of generations will take care of that.

You are an immigrant. Anyone who moves to another country to live is an immigrant. Some people think all immigrants are illegal, and that is why they say you are not an immigrant, but they don't know what they're saying.

You are correct: you are an immigrant and will always be an immigrant.
If you are a U.S. citizen, you are a naturalized citizen from Chile...or as people are wont to say, a Chilean-American.
My wife is from the Philippines; our oldest son was born in Germany!
Welcome!

You're right. You came her from another country (imigrated) so you will always be an imigrate.
But to clarify. You are a legal immigrate. those that came here without legal authorization are illegal immigrates.
Congratulations on getting your citizenship. I know it isn't easy.

If you weren't born in the country that you live in, you're an immigrant (with a few exceptions, ie military bases, born while parents were vacationing).
