I need everyones advice. I have asked this question earlier today but did not get enough responses. I have a little bit of a stomach problem. Lately I have been getting these sharp hunger pains in my tummy...and at times feel like throwing up and at the same time I feel starving!! Untill I finally eat something the hunger pain temporary goes away and im not completely full. When I do usually eat a full meal im starving agian an hour later. Im 21 years old and weigh 122 pounds which is normal for my age. Can anyone relate to this and tell me what you think? Could this be a sign of an ulcer? Or can it be something else?

appropriate weight is not determined by age, it is determined by height. If you allow yourself to become hungry enough to give yourself such symptoms you are not eating regularly enough.

Some types of ulcers can make you feel hungry, then you feel ok after eating then the feeling comes back, it could be a peptic or duodenal ulcer, easily treated with a prescription from doctor.

Do you drink a lot of pop with caffeine in it? I had to quit drinking pop with caffeine, coffee, candy bars, because of the hunger pain thing. My doctor told me it was an allergic reaction to the caffeine, the hunger pains. I actually gained a lot of weight because I would eat to get rid of the hunger pains too.

More than likely it is what you are eating.. Gradually replace what you are eating with more natural foods. Lots of fruits and about 2-4oz of nuts/day. Balance your Carbs (60%), Proteins (20%), and Fats (20%). Do not try to go all natural cold turkey, the head aches will be unbearable.

could be an ulcer. please have it checked. is there any change in bowel movement? is there black, tarry stool (a sign of blood)? Is the pain relieved when you take any type of antacid? Ulcers can be treated, but as with any ailment, it is best to catch it early.
