Well I sold some stuff I wasn't using so I could get a new gun. Would it be totally crazy to drop over 800$ for a gun I have never handled and have it ordered. I'm sure I will love it because I have shot similar ones but I am hesisitant. Nobody in my area has one on the shelf. http://www.paraord.com/product/product.html?id=1

I sold one of these to a customer thru my gun shop, about a month ago that I "special ordered" in for him. It looked like a decent 45 and Para Ordinance makes good quality semi-automatic pistols, and has a good rep in the industry. I talked to him last weekend and he loves his. He already put about 250 rounds of factory ball thru it with no malfunctions what-so-ever. He has confidence enough that he plans on using it as his new "carry" gun. I would trust his judgment and his recommendation in a heartbeat...He's no slouch on the range either....So I don't think you are strange at all in this case...........

Para Ordinance makes a quality gun so you won't be disappointed with the quality. Most, if not all, of the 1911 variants feel much the same in your hand. The grip angle on the Para Ordinance pistol is the same as on any 1911 variant so the feel in your hand will be much the same. Where the differences in feel will be will be in the finish of the grip and the checkering on the front and back of the grip frame but for most people these are relatively minor things. I'd suggest that you find a new or used Officer's Model of a 1911 and see how it feels in your hand. The dimensions of the two guns are quite similar If you like it, you will like the Para Ordinance.

I think para's are over priced. For that amount of money I'd look at colts, springfields, and kimbers.

That does look like a nice one though, and if you like para, I'd say go for it. It's a single stack 1911 with a beaver tail. It's going to feel the same as any single stack 1911 with a beaver tail. The balance should be similar to other short barrelled 1911s. The triggers on para's are reportedly crisp.

I don't think you're crazy. I don't think by picking it up, and looking at it that you'd be able to tell anything new about it until you get to put some rounds through it.

Para Ordinance is good stuff. It's not the absolute best, but its darn good for the price. I settled for a Springfield Armory 1911 because it was about $250 cheaper and also built very well.

If you ever buy more guns unseen, just be careful about M1 Garands that originate from a company called "Blue Sky" (they stamp Blue Sky and Arlington on the barrel). These usually have barrels with excessive muzzle errosion from cleaning rod damage.

President Obama had a number of issues in this bill that persons felt have been a breach of guy or woman privateness. case in point scientific information may well be obtainable to the federal government. this is frightening because of the fact sufferers won't sense mushy sharing with their healthcare professional's understanding that great Brother is gazing them. might you desire strangers understanding all your well being complications, drugs you're on, scientific institution remains and emergency room visits? i do no longer desire the gov't in my homestead, my mattress room or my healthcare professional's examination room.

I don't think it's a bad decision to blind buy. Worse case scenario you don't like it and have to sell it. You'll probably be able to get pretty close to what you paid for it especially if you keep the reciepts that show when you bought it.

Not a bad gun. I do not like 1911 style guns but Para is a well made brand.
I personally like the Springfield Armory XDs all around. I also like beretta.
You defiantly need to hold a gun to see if it feels right in your hand before you buy it. Once you buy it the value drops and you are going to take a hard hit ($$$) if you do not like it.

I don't think I'd buy one without first holding one. Para Ordanance makes damn good pistols. My cousin has a Warthog and loves it.

I would never buy a firearm without having at least hefted it, personal preference.

I don't own guns any more. I gave them all to the Hillary Clinton campaign fund, they sold them and used the money to buy cigars...
