I quit drinking four years ago....
I started losing hair four years ago.....
I'm thinking that I never made up in diet - calorie wise - what I used to drink...
I always attributed it at the time to stress.....the new stress of not drinking that is.....just an idea.....

Anyhow, I've had about every bit of bloodwork done that could be - and it all came by normal.....

Is it possible that its as simple as I'm scrawny as could be?
I'm 5 foot 8 and 115lb.....consume about 1200 cal a day....

If its a possibility, let me know....

Yes, try upping your caloric intake and see if that does not help. Try eating healthy things like salmon, sweet potatoes, blue berries, green veggies, whole grains, and include olive oil and nuts, eggs that are omega three enriched. Your hormones can make you lose hair too.I believe the reduction in calorie intake decreases your hormone production. Just a theory, I am not a doctor. But this happened to me when I was younger and stopped eating because of the turmoil in my life. As soon as I started eating normal meals again, my hair was thick and shiny once again. I believe as soon as you up your calorie intake in a healthy way you should be back to normal. If you find you cannot handle the increase in calories maybe a supplement drink could help you. There are several on the market that are excellent. Ensure is one. May the Lord bless you!

Congrats on quitting drinking.

You need more than 1200. 1200 is the bare bare minimum caloric intake to just maintain basic functions. You need about 2000 maybe a bit more. Malnutrition can cause hair loss. Have you ever seen an anorexic with beautiful hair? You are a bit underweight for your height as well.

Yes. One of the signs of anorexia is hair loss. Children with kwashiorkor, a disease resulting from too little protein in the diet, have very thin hair.
Other causes include over or under active thyroid, vitamin B deficiency but vitamin A excess.

Severe stress causes hair loss. Many individuals will experience a loss of hair a few months after a severe illness or a difficult pregnancy. These hairs usually regrow.

Much hair loss in both men and women is genetic.

Pregnant women take vitamins and they normally have thick, shiny, beautiful hair. Try your local health food store and ask for vitamins that can help hair growth. Vitamin E is a big one.
Eating lots of fruits and vegi's should be an integral part of your diet also. I could 1500 calories worth of candy bars....but that would kill me eventually. You need heatlthy food, not just a higher caloric intake.

it particularly is merely what it potential, a low caloric beverage. 0 is a variety too, and a low variety as nicely. i'm confident they define "low calorie" as a undeniable variety, case in point 50 or under according to serving. 0 is under 50! subsequently this qualifies. As for the reason to decrease it out of your weight-relief plan, carbonation, caffeine, synthetic flavors and colorations are reason human beings does no longer think of it particularly is robust for you. wish this helps!
