Just a thought I had the other day: what if, once the chase drivers are decided, they all get the same amount of points, and points are deducted for what they do wrong. Example-pit violation, lose points; cause a wreck, lose points; bad behavior (swearing, fighting, throwing helmets, rude gestures etc.) lose points.
That way, the winner is not only the best driver, but the best sportsman as well.

That would be pretty awesome. But Stewart would always finish last and then he will complain some more. It would be interesting though.

Basically that is how it is set up now if you have a pit road violation you will lose points because at most tracks you will lose a lap if you have a drive thru penalty, if you cause a wreck your car wont handle as well because you have damage yourself, as far as the swearing and fighting NASCAR has been taking points away for that for a few years now

Oh I could just imagine Tony Stewart getting out of his car. after being wrecked by another driver, and pulling out a bottle of Shlitz and celebrating that someone hit him, but they didn't mean to do it. He earned the same points as the winner, and was a good sport too.

That idea is ridiculous...... Let's take all of the driver's abilities to display their emotions away from them. Why don't we just start racing remote control cars if we don't want the drivers to act human.

NASCAR's current system to police bad behavior is as tight as it needs to be. Making it any worse would be very bad for the sport.

Tony Stewart would finish the year in the negative points numbers if that was the case.
