"Liberals love to boast that they are not 'religious,' which is what one would expect to hear from the state-sanctioned religion. Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles, its own beliefs in the supernatural, its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as 'religion.'"
Agree??

Completely disagree. Coulter can't seem to envision a political system not based on religious fervor. By her definition, fly fishing or any hobby with notable individuals could be seen as a "religion." And evolution, of course, is supported by evidence and merely describes a physical process, and says nothing about meaning or philosophy. I suppose she will label the speed of light as "Satan's highway" next.
I'm a libertarian (conservative leaning, but I never vote for the religious right). I think she won't allow her mind to envision a world that functions apart from her religious beliefs. It's the only explanation I can find for a woman who can support anti-science like I.D., while claiming that evolution and liberalism are a false religion. Her religion is something she is passionate about, but it blurs her clever reasoning.

David,
Your recent posts, including this one, constitute nothing more than you passing judgment on others. This one serves no purpose other than to insult people who may disagree with you politically and label them.
You may have become a stumbling block to many people. Your attitude toward the neighbor you have been ordered by the Lord to love is hateful and will drive him farther from the Light.
Your generalizations, like this incredibly immature one, are offensive to all but the fringes of society. It is with a heavy heart that I chastise you, doing so because the Bible instructs us to do so, if we see one of the faithful behaving in an unseemly way.
You would better serve yourself and the Lord if you stayed off R&S for a while and spent that time in his Word. If you won't do that, at least change your avatar. It represents Yeshua, Ha Meshiach and discredits Him.
With love from a sister in Yeshua,

If you use a very broad interpretation of the "religious" terminology, then you're probably right. But religion in atheistic circles almost exclusively revolves around a diety and the supernatural. To my knowledge, Atheists do not believe in supernatural phenomenem.

Next time you rip off Ann Coulter's book "Godless," the appropriate protocol is to cite your source. And I do not agree; atheism/ secularism makes no assumptions about how the universe works. However, there are some expectations about what kind of garbage doesn't belong public school science classes.

Sounds like typical USian fundie spin doctoring ... aka lies.
Sounds very much like the sorta vomit that Coulter thing would spew.
If Pope Benny is god's Rottweiler then Coulter is his witch.
Oh; I disagree.
I'm a neo-pagan and I believe society should represent and ensure justice to ALL its members - not just the corporations and the rich.

Boloney. Anyone who doesn't agree with liberals or atheists will refer to each as a religion in an attempt to deflect from their own religion's faults. It's a straw man argument.

If Atheism is a religion, the IRS and Bush owe me a whole lot of back taxes. My place of worship should be tax exempt like Bush's Church's property. I worship in my home, and teach in it. Where's the funding for faith based schools huh?

You are a liar, of course.
Are you seriously quoting from Ann Coulter, disgrace to all she touches? A known plagiarist whose entire career is founded on slander?

The person you are quoting simply doesn't have a grasp of the term "religion." Or that saying (or quoting) something erroneous doesn't make it true.
