A few weks ago I rang optus and asked them to combine my mobile and my lanline on 99$ one optus plan. I rang several times and each time I had to wait for about an hour and a half....they asked me a lot of questions and at them end my mobile was transferred from prepaid to 99$ plan while my land line did not!after one month I realised they have not changed my landline plan that means I thought I have pay a lot of money without having the benefits of the actual plan.....while they rang me several times and my understanding was that this is going to happen.....then I rang them and asked to cancel this plan but instead to have my mobile from prepaid to post paid ....they said I have to go to 49$ plane a month for my mobile when I asked for cheaper plan they said there is a 19$cap plan per month but I have to pay 200$ cancellation fee for that 99$ plan.....I am so annoyed why they keep me waiting for nearly 2 hours and then what a bloody rouge they are to rip off sp shameleeslessly..

Okay so I can top that. February 2006, I see all these commercials for Dodo Australia. They was advertising cheap broadband and half price phone calls, etc. I ring up and connect to them.
They asked me for my bank details, so they could take the joining fee out ($30-). I give them my bank details, and say no more money is to come out, as most of my pay goes on my mortgage. That's fine mam.
6 weeks later, my broadband is finally connected. Meanwhile I have had to ring up at least 15 times, due to not being able to make calls, or seeing what is taking so long.
Fair enough. 3 months down the track (June 2006) my bank rings me. My bank account is over drawn. I am panicking thinking they are going to take away my house. Dodo had been taking up to $300 a fortnight for my phones. Which is crap considering we barely use our house line and broadband use was rare (we had 6 month old twins).
I ring up Dodo. Tell them to stop really nice about it. After over 100 more phone call (and at least an hour on the phone each time) nothing happened. I ended up going to Telstra. Dodo continued chewing up money in my bank account without my permission. I had to close that account to stop everything.
Then about 5 months ago, I get a phone call. It was a Friday night, about 8:30pm and guess who?? Dodo!! They are trying to tell me I owe them...$2.45!! That isn't a mistake $2.45.
I went off my head!

That phone company needs to be stopped. I know other people who have had my trouble and nothing seems to be done. The financially wrecked me for a long time. We have only really recovered the money we lost with them.

Sorry for going on. Phone companies annoy me.

I'm with Telstra. I have a mobile phone, two landlines and a Bigpond computer connection on the same bill and the cost for the lot is about $120 a month including 125 free local calls and $20 of free calls on the mobile. I don't see that as being expensive, perhaps you do. The mobile, by the way, is a $20 a month plan for two years. That includes the handset and the aforementioned $20 worth of calls - but I pay the $20 whether or not I use the calls.

I have iiNet phone service (combined with web) and I really like it. Meanwhile, everything is expensive in Australia!
