I am growing out blunt cut bangs. Right now the bangs that are growing out are about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches past my chin. Since they are long, they don't look good as side swept anymore because they are flat. I found a great way to do a side part and make my hair look great.

The only thing is, my roots are flat because my hair is long. (Bra Strap Length.) I wear my hair stright and want to keep doing it, I just need to get some volume in my roots. Whatever I do has to be done on dry hair before I leave for school.

What do you suggest?

It has to be for DRY HAIR!!!

I wash my hair at night and then style in the morning before school.

apply a little amount of flexible mouse on your wet hair, and blow dry it upside down. I had the same problem. You could also try a volumizer from a drug store.

Put your dry hair up in loose ponytail at the top of your head before you go to sleep. When you release it in the morning, you'll see more lift at the roots.

Switch the way you part your hair often. If you consistently part your hair one way, it starts to get used to it & lay flat.

Use a microfiber towel to dry your hair. Such towels are superabsorbent & will shorten drying time.

Pantene extra body conditioner (white bottle, purple band) is the best volumizing conditioner I've found.

you might want to start investing in volumizing products, such as shampoos, conditioners, mousse, hairsprays etc.. also velcro rollers would be a good alternative. they are very cheap! i got mine at a dollar store and they work wonders! you can definitely use them when your hair is dry...just apply some volumizing hairspray once your hair is up in the rollers, and then take them off on your way out or something. hope this helps! :)

Use root volumizers: These are products designed to lift hair at the scalp. They come in gel, mousse and spray versions, and you place the product directly at the roots of towel-dried hair, lifting hair with your fingers as you apply.
