GPAs like that are out of 4.0, and a 2.89 (rounded) is okay, but could be better.

A loose equivalent is 4.0 = A, 3.5 = B+, 3.0 = B or B-, 2.5 = C+, 2.0 = C or C-, etc.

Right now, you're in the C+ range. "A good" GPA is usually considered to be 3.0 and higher, but yours isn't bad where it is now. You're really close to hitting that 3.0 mark! :)

Everything in life is relevant so this really depends on what grade you are in school and if you are trying to get a cumlative good GPA, that makes it harder and harder as for every D you get, you have to get an equally weighted A, just to bring the D up to a B- C+, If you have made great improvement pat yourself on the back, if you could do better than get to it. If you are looking at colleges make sure what they want altho I do find the higher the GPA required for a college the better education you will get, but this is only from personal experience

It's not bad but it's not really good either. It's not even a b average. But compared to a lot of people I'm sure it's pretty high. Try boosting it up with junior college classes or something!

Good luck!
